It would not be prohibited, not if it was originally manufactured in that configuration.

A shotgun with an OAL of less than 26" (regardless of barrel length) would be restricted if it was manufactured that way. Some historic examples of shotguns of this type are the Ithaca Auto and Burglar and the Marbles Game Getter.

Additionally, some Remington 11-87 Police shotguns have been classified as restricted due to having an 18" barrel. 18-1/2" is the minimum length for a non-restricted semiauto shotgun or rifle.

My guess is that they wanted to make M1 Carbines, which have an 18" barrel, restricted.

Restricted. And on non-semi the barrels can be any length you want as long as they are not cut down, it has to be a manufactured barrel from Dominion, Remington, Dlask, etc.

If it is over 26" long, non restricted no matter what the barrel length, as per the latter barrel rules.

Were there not like foot long non restricted pistol grip shotguns available a few years ago? What happened to them?

Although you can technically cut the stock with a hacksaw and make it a pistol grip, you will then also be making it a prohibited firearm, because the overall length will be less than 26". I wonder if they manufactured it like that then it would be restricted?

Dlask.....it was a "grey" area...they were technically-letter-of-the-law non-res but no one wanted to go to court over it as far as I know....lest a judges interpretation turned out bad.....

I prefer mine with a Knoxx collapsible stock on it anyways, easier to shoot 3: slugs

I know that if CanadaAmmo had bird's head pistol grip stocks made for the outlaws, 90% of outlaw owners would buy them. I know I would definitely pick up an outlaw(already plan to, but that would speed it up).
