Hey all, neighborhood friendly Milsurp lover here. Anywho, I'll be sending my PAL papers away soon and I've started thinking I'd like an Arisaka as my first rifle! Pretty much any model, doesn't matter if mum is intact. I doubt there is any surplus ammo anywhere, but are there any places that sell commercial? I read on Wiki that Hornandy sells both 7.7 and 6.5.

Thanks!

I think Globe had a T-99 in their most recent flyer, and I know Collector's Source has a T-38 carbine. As for ammo you're mostly going to find it at gunshows, most stores don't regularly stock it.

I have a T-99 and a T-38 myself and quite like them, they're neat rifles!

Thanks! Whats the full Globe name/website? I'm not familiar :(

Yes, Goble’s has one. They have listed it as a Manchurian made T-99, the gunsmith there told me not to take that as fact.

Mukden Arsenal (Manchuria) 1931-1945 was made

Looks ok, but the mum is ground, the bore is shiny but almost no rifling, and I am pretty sure it’s a mismatch. Comes with a bayonet and a repro sniper sling. The rifle has no provision for a mono pod, but it has anti aircraft sights, I see it being a Series 5. So did Mukden Arsenal make a series 5 rifle?

I was going to buy it and was originally told me that it was $339 for the lot, went back and the price was up $100., Now it’s $469 or something like that.

If you need ammunition to feed the Arisakas, perhaps give James Davis a call at the Red Deer (South) Canadian Tire. He is the Sporting Goods Manager there. I ordered 140 rounds of 8mm kurz from him last week, and I believe he can get in 6.5x50 Jap and also 7.7x58 Jap as well. Give them a call at (403) 342-2222, ask for sporting goods/firearms and ammunition section.

Don't know if they ship or not, as I am able to go there in person, but it's worth a try.

Cheers!

My references show T99 production at Mukden (Hoten) as approx. 3000 rifles total, marked as series 45 (some series 50 reported)

Hi. I own a Japanese Arisaka Type 38 Long Infantry, All Matching, WWII Naval Service markings, willing to let her go for 475 plus shipping. I also reload the Japanese 6.5 Arisaka rounds myself. They are made by Norma (or, I should say, were made by Norma) and go for about 55 bucks a box. Graf and Sons now makes the brass for handloading.

Let me know if you are interested, I recently aquired a Type 38 carbine and am looking to sell it's big brother.

Yours,

Drachenblut
