RPAL references checked

On August 12 the RCMP conducted a phone interview with me and then they phoned and talked to both my references. Next weeks marks my 45 day period. Does my RPAL get issued by the RCMP and should I be expecting it soon? This is a long wait :p
 
Once you get approved your PAL number will be the RPAL number so you can buy stuff.

Just call them up to make sure you are 100% approved. However it should take a week or two after you get approved to get your card.
 
My Rpal was approved Aug 17 and I got the card in the mail today. They received the application on June 29th.

I called at 44 days and the lady at the Ont office forwarded my file for final aproval. They are behind with summer holidays was what I was told.

You never can tell with a PAL waiting time. I forget how long mine took, but it was at least five months - and my references were not ever called. All I can say for sure is that it is worth the wait.

They called and spoke to me and my 2 refs today. My app was recieved on Aug 10th and it's only been 15 days since. I was kinda shocked to get a call from them because I've been reading a lot of "long waiting horror stories".
However, I checked my status online and found no changes as it reads "Your application has completed initial processing. It is now in progress. Please check the status again at a later date."

Is it normal???

Yes.

It will stay with that message (at least) until the 28 day cooling off period has elapsed.

For me, on the 29th day the message changed to "Your application has been processed and your licence has been issued" or something to that effect.

It is, I checked mine often and it read the same status for a number of months. As it turned out the CFO in Alberta was "backlogged" with requests. I took that to be a good sign, the sport is alive and well in this province.

So, that means I'm not getting my RPAL any time soon??? I thought the interview part was the final step just before being approved...
Should I call CFC again??? Please give this newbie some advice...:p

P.S.) Is 28day waiting period mandatory??? Anyone got their license sooner than 28 days???

You said they recieved on Aug. 10, and they called today Aug 25 which is 15 days.

Your still well within the mandatory 28 day cooling off period. Their site says it normally takes 45 days from the time they get your app until you have the card in your hand. Some take alot longer, some are done faster, mine was 34 days.

Trust me, I know how egar you are to get it. Just have a little patience.:p It will be worth it.

My advice is to wait until the 28 day cooling off period has elapsed and if the message hasn't changed when you check their site, then call.
