I am new to guns, and sights but learning fast. That being said what is the difference between lets say a 500 dollar eotech and lets say the ncstar equivilant. I am a firm beleiver that you get what you pay for but at the same time a 500 dollar pair of designer jeans is no better basically then your 30 dollar wallmart specials. (I should know because i have both). Is there a big difference in accuraccy assuming it will just be on a .22 so there is no real shock to the sights ? Or is there really a huge difference between the real deal and the clones ?

For a 22 I would not spend 500 plus on a EOTECH thats forsure. A cheaper one will do just fine. Your right about lacking the shock on the 22, now one of those cheapies on a 12g would be a different story. I have a cheaper tasco on a 10/22 and it works as well as the EOTech I have. Would I take it to Afghanistan, NO. That being said I just wouldnt mount it on my AR because im really picky about "my baby". I hope this helped.

Yea that helped. I was looking to spend around 200 dollars on an optic for the 22 as i've already sunk about 800 dollars on it which is crazy in its own right but i cant shoot an ar-15 out in the farm like i can the 22 so unless i join the army i dont see myself shooting one anytime soon. Dont get me wrong id absolutly LOVE to own one but i think a 4 shot clip and range only use just takes the fun out of a gun that is capible of so much more.

i bought a 1337 dr. optic clone, but i found it wasn't visible in daylight, but it sure looked purdy when looking thru it in my office:(

driving all the way out to the range(all 10 minutes of it:p), only to find that you can't see the dot is kind of frustrating:mad:

but when it comes to a .22, or any gun for that matter, i have to have a magnified optic, 1x just doesn't cut it with my glaucoma.

why not get on the preorder for the Falcon Menace 1.5-5 that are out. Great optic for $300 and with better resale then a cheapy.
I'm getting one for a 10/22 myself.
