Swiss Arms addicts sound off

I got the bipod from The Shooting Edge a few days ago while I was away fishing. Many apologies for the crap iphone photos but I just got back from a week of fishing up north for halibut/salmon and now am in the middle of moving my company office and data centre... fun fun...

No time to break out the digital SLR etc.

She's mean and lean now. Co-witness is excellent when mounted on forward rail. The sight needed to be moved here, because the B&T receiver rail places the LT661 mount a bit too high to provide proper co-witness though.

That is a very sweet carbine Sprint.

This is the model I want to buy but I'm struggling with spending that kind of change on another restricted rifle :( Either way some form of Swiss is high on my next to buy list.

I wouldn't wait if you are sitting on the fence. I just acquired a 14.3" carbine myself. I don't think you will see much of them in the future. They are definitely one of the rarer Swiss rifles. Much easier to get an AR or even the the other Swiss brethren (CG/BS and CQB) but don't hesitate if you have a carbine lined up. Just my personal hunch.
 
Good one UncleWalther. It still pains me to look at the pics. I'm going to have to reacquire another in the near future i think.

Until about 10 months ago, I think there were literally no 14.3s on the civilian market. I was under the impression that the ones that got in were part of a law enforcement agency order that TSE somehow secured. They are all 1/7 twist models, with no import markings. They don't seem rare at the moment, because the ones that were brought in are still changing hands. But, there aren't too many in terms of absolute numbers. Are they still being made/imported?

THe 17.9" model was orginally made for the French Marine Commando.

I like the Swiss Arms system - but it doesn't work ergonomically for smaller guys like me. My major issue is the safety - I have to cant the rifle to engage/disengage safety. It is heavier - but it is not a deal breaker at the end of the day. The HK Mr223 is about the same weight.

AR for me - (unless I can get a SCAR 16S ....)

Hell, I'm a big cro-magnon mother####er and I can hardly reach the safety with my wookie thumbs.

I'm holding out for Megan Fox to come play along with me with her toe-thumbs tho. :p

I'm 1,52m small and have glove size XS and the safety is no issue to me. If you can't reach the safety, then just move the hand. It's just a matter of practice.

On the other hand: the AR-safety is just too flat for me, so maybe it's just a matter of training and getting used to.

Probably true...I'm just very very used to the AR ;) Guess I need some practice :rockOn:
