Hunting with an evil, baby-eating black rifle

kindly shut up retard, you obviously dont know what your talking about

In Alberta he does...

Its ILLEGAL to hunt big game with an autoloader that has a capacity of more then 5 rounds....

Its also illegal to hunt big game with anything less then .23 calibre. These are hunting regulations, its not about whether the mag is illegal to possess, its about if its legal to use while hunting... there is a difference.

So the question is, if you are stopped with a .223 caliber rifle, with a magazine of 10 rounds.. Do they assume your not hunting big game and just coyotes because you have a .223....

If some guys get their ass handed to them for just target shooting in the woods, whats gonna happen if a CO catches you like that...

I personally, have no idea, or opinion on the matter, but these are the issues that I would think about..

Entirely dependant on the mood of the CO. If he's in a bad mood it wouldn't matter if all he had was a .22LR and was popping gophers, chances are the CO is still going to nail him for something.

Back in the day, I used to hunt deer with my G3. That got too scary for the urban-anti crowd, so now I hunt with my M-14.

I hope that makes them happy!

I vote that Questar gets RRA to make a .458 Socom pistol magazine. :p 10 rounds of .458 would be fun. And if it theoretically fits 30 rounds if .556, well... It's not like anyone would ever put .556 in that magazine...

I'd hunt with the evilest looking black rifle in the world if it was non restricted and ACCURATE and someone would buy me one..I just dont' have enough interest in them to own one.

I'd use a 10 round magazine and hunt deer with 223 TSX loads, just to annoy people.:p

legal in Ontario

Careful, once you pop that 10 round mag into a rifle, it's now illegal, argue all you want but you'll be fighting to get your firearm back in the meantime.

Checked the regs. for Ontario-pg. 23 4th paragraph down and I quote.. "Under the Criminal Code of Canada you cannot possess any clip/magazine that holds more than five shots for a semi-automatic centre fire rifle UNLESS THAT CLIP/MAGAZINE HAS BEEN SPECIFICALLY EXEMPTED, PURSUANT TO THE FIREARMS REGULATIONS.

You're right, you havent made many friends over at OOD. A little bit of a different crowd then CGN. I wouldnt personally use one due to likelyhood of a meeting with the OPP rising, nor do I condem you for wanting to use one.
But if everyone just hunted with their non-r black guns, this wouldn't be a problem. We hide our sport, that's the problem.

And the LAR-15 mags have been exempted, as they are legally pistol mags, correct?

5 rounds max for hunting in a semiauto (in NL at least). The hunting regs have nothing to do with magazine regs. For example, you can only have 3 shots in a pump action for migratory birds, but at the range there is no magazine limit.

Correct.(Federally, read the Questar link in a previous post)), check your Provincial Hunting Regs for use in a Non-Restricted Rifle.

Most of the pissing match seems to be between the different hunting regs of the Provinces.

Thanks to those that clarified their Provincial Regs for Hunting!

I'm thinking of getting a CX4 storm for deer hunting. Is .40S&W enough for deer? If not, would double-taps be neccessary?

Shouldn't every hunters mantra be "one shot, one kill"? This is not to save ammo, but to harvest your game as ethically and humanely as possible. If someone showed up to my deer camp with a pistol carbine, they would be put on a post where they could see no more than 20 yards. Even then I'd rather they had a .45 colt or .44 mag to make that kill. We are not talking about self defense here, or varmint hunting. It is illegal to let spoil or to
waste the flesh of any game animal.
