My New Reloading Center

That's an awesome setup

Thanks!

I think I am really going to like it once I get going and get the last odds and ends.

Too bad powers and primers are so hard to come by.

Thankfully I have 3000 primers (not all the same type) I bought a while ago :D:D:D:D:D!

Knowing I was going to get into reloading I have been buying stuff for a couple of years...so much to get!

I gave up on the primer catcher tray.
I Kept having primer missing it and falling aside or bouncing from the tray.
Also to empty it I found was a PITA because if it jerked I would have all the content of the tray on the floor.

So I thought for a bit and set this up.
Went to home depot, bought some clear rubber tubing and an elbow.
now the primers fall into my rubbish bin directly.

I also improved the sides of the catch by raising them a bit by using some silicone so the tube is almost flush on the upstroke; this prevents any primers from falling to the sides.

So now i don’t have to worry about primers falling anywhere anymore or worry about the catcher getting full.

Your set up does looks really nice.
Im sure you will enjoy it.
Cheers.

Good Set Up !

... Good set-up ! .. What I did was to bend a piece of heavy aluminum to a right angle, and use that to reinforce the corner and the press mounting. ( Don't forget to put washers or a reinforcing plate beneath the bolts that hold the press ! I Did Forget ! ) )..... The Spent Primmer Catcher, if you break or lose the "arch" that hold it in place, then a substitute can be made from two "Zap Straps" . IF you find the Bench lifts or shifts while you're using it, attach it to a piece of plywood that you can stand on while working ( Kinda like trying to lift yourself up by the Bootstraps thing ! ) ... Plastic Coffee cans work well for storing Brass, and you can never have enough Loading Manuals ! ( Powder manufactures offer some FREE Data sheets/catalogs ) ... David K ....

nice neat set up:rockOn:..if you were in my neck of the woods.id give you a plate to put under the press..probly make you up a holder for that powder dispenser to ....
happy reloading:wave:

A run out gauge is a block with two bases to rest a loaded cartridge on horizonally. There is also an adjustable stop bar for the rear of the cartridge. At the bullet end there is a post on which a dial gauge and plunger is mounted. When the bullet is turned under the plunger, you will get a reading on how much your bullets are loaded off center. Run out is quite important if you're looking for match accuracy. The gauge base can easily be handmade out of plywood and a few screws. The only thing you need to buy is a dial gauge. Dial gauges at Princess Auto go for around $15 and are as good as anyone elses at 5x the price.

Installing a plate under the press and on top of the desk today. It's moving around too much and going to break the wood pretty quick. I'll' upload new pics when I'm done.

As for a holder for the powder dispenser holder...I would happily pay for shipping, materials or whatever :D. It's a total pain not having one.

Thanks for the info. I'll look into one. I'll probably buy a commercial one; I am looking at on the Horandy site right now.

Just went and checked the box my press can in...the primer tray was in there.

I'm a moron.

Well, if you didn't know what that plastic "cup" was for, it does'nt really jump out at you as what it actually is. I would'nt classify yourself as a moron just yet.;)

Maybe its time to read the manual that came in the box.....:D;)

Updated photos

As per some suggestions I added an aluminum plate to the top of my bench and steel plate under; bolted the press through both after bolting the aluminum plate to the surface. It is MUCH more strudy now and should serve me for a long time trouble free...I hope.

Being the rookie that I am I have already broken a de-capper pin and bend a die (the inside part). Reloading is not the easiest thing to learn totally on your own; I have never even witnessed the reloading process expect for what I found on youtube. I will learn but moron status fully intact for the time being.

Adding a tumbler next week; and bunch more odds and ends.

These pics suck for some reason but you get the idea.

Looks good. I'm currently rebuilding my bench as the movers busted it to #### on the move out here. Should have it done this week hopefully.

The 5-0-5 or 10-0-10 scale will serve you well for now. My personal preference is a digital scale - just makes the weighing of a charge that much quicker and more precise to me. Not everyone is a fan of them so to each their own, but I personally love the RCBS Powder Pro I bought shortly after buying my Rock Chucker Supreme kit.

For the Uniflow, you should have been provided with the steel plate for it - I think they are standard and included with the kit. Easy enough to order from RCBS I would think, or even go with the raised Uniflow mount. Brings the dispenser up about 5' or so for easier throwing of charges.

I got a mount for my powder throw...and a tumbler. I am going to upgrade to a digital scale at some point. A case trimmer is next on my list. Updated pics.
