What is the gold colour from ?
Cosmo tarnish ?...some kind of anti rust agent?
Is it part of the arsenal refurb ?

I have small discoloration on mine where either cosmo or that thin almost CLP like oil the rifle came in was for a while. Looks like a drop of oil that was slowly moving down under gravity.

some gold bayos are just cosmo but some are a coating am guessing anti-glare? I have seen it on chinese spike bayos too, I scrubbed it off one thinking it was cosmo "dumb me"

Dealer are WAY ahead of you. Do some searches. Gold bayo costs more than non. Which is ridiculous.

Not at Leverarms. You can get non-refurbs, almost new with gold bayo, to first class silver bolt/bayo, blued steel refurbs all matching, to absolute dogs with painted metal, black bolts/bayos repaired stocks non-matching...all for the same low price of 199 bucks. The key is patience and knowledge of what to look for. Mail order from them is a gamble but I know some have been lucky.

Well I am in the market for another SKS so it is a toss up between Lever and whatever Marstar brings to the table.

If anyone has a shinny gold one I'll trade you a silver ;)

I am almost 100% the gold color is to cut down on glare. Just like the plum color SVT bolts and blued SKS bayos.
