Hunting Dog Section

I'm a member of the Saskatoon Gun Dog Club with my Large Munsterlander. I got the dog from Joe Schmutz, who is on one of the Bird Dogs Forever podcasts.

I came into the club knowing nothing about hunting dogs. It's a smaller club with only so many active members, but they are all very supportive and actively helping each other on having good hunting dogs.

If anyone is interested in coming out to an event or some training, PM me and I will get you in touch with the club officers. Just as an fyi, the NAVHDA test is coming up on Sept. 12 and 13 at the Retriever Club, and the VHDF test is Sept. 26 and 27 out at Alvena. Spectators and interested parties are welcome and encouraged to come.

the complete picture...

Hey, if I knew how to multiquote I would quote all my posts on this thread, but I don't know how...

I originally posted a message about how on some dog sites you will get 1000 different oppinions on something as simple as the fabric of the blanket your dog sleeps on. and anothe thousand telling you dogs shouldn't sleep on blankets at all:rolleyes::)

Well this post that basically agreed with most of what is being said here, did not post obviously,...and my attempts at humor, actually came acroos as an arrogant snooty dog owner... Appologies..

If it wasn't for a PM I would never had re read the thread beginning to end and saw that my post wasn't there...

..guys,..it tokk this long for me to get called out on this thread?????
when you see an ass, call it !:D

Basically, I agree with most of what is said here.

I train my dog with bobble head,...a hundred people will say they do the same, another hundred will tell you you are ruining the dog..

My best advice is to find people who use their dogs equivalent to you and have the desired results you'd like, and ask questions..

If you have sally tied toa rope lowering her down over a cliff witha life jacket on to go get the sea duck you shot, you may not be well recived in some circles...other circles will advise you on the kind of rope to use:D

I might be interested in that, at least just to watch. Can I bring Radar or is it taboo to bring other dogs? Maybe a distraction to the others?

Where's Alvena?
