Holy price slash Batman...

I heard from a reliable US source that when Century imported VZ's into the US they paid $5 USD for each rifle, complete with 4 mags, cleaning kit, and bayonet, plus shipping/import costs, of course

Then they chopped 'em up for parts kits.

Same website 2.7 euros for CZ mags:eek: amazing

Really pissed that BVS was closed when I was in prague...

thoses are really too expensive you can get way way cheaper for full auto no one can buy if and that you need to pick-up yourself

It would be very difficult to get tracer ammo into the country for civilian purchase.

Tracer has been coming into Canada for some time now, they look like the normal green cases only they have no stripper clip symbol on the side.

Also regarding that site $30 Canadian for a case for regular 7.62x39, we pay what? $200+ in Canada.

During the great surplus ammo shortage of two summers ago they told me they have an exclusive contract with Marstar for Canada.

In Germany they can go for as low as $20 a case.

if it costs 40-50 bucks to ship 1 crate of 7,62x39 halfway across canada, i wouldn't want to know what the cost would be direct ship 1 from europe:eek:

and they say theres no mark up in the firearms business

Well, lets see.

  • Purchasing agreements
  • Raising capital
  • International bank transfers of large cash amounts for firearms
  • Export permits
  • Transatlantic shipping
  • Import permits
  • Port Inspections
  • Submission of examples to CFC for classification
  • Compliance testing
  • Appeals processing
  • Administrative overhead to manage all of the above.
  • Est. of fair market pricing
  • Estimation of failure and return rates to provide fair vendor support
  • The desire to ROI

Someone who has done it can probably fill in all the things I missed.

Sprint:

  • Brokers
  • Lawyers
  • Currency Exchange rates
  • Taxes/Excise/Customs
  • Warranty- Can it be serviced here, or do you need to put $x per sale aside if materials need to be returned to the manufacturer for service.
  • Plus, most of this has to be paid in advance with no gaurantee of money back if something goes wrong. Not all countries have the protections that buyers in Canada enjoy...
  • Delivery can take from several months, to years, making netback on your investment unpredictable. All the while, the purchase you made on credit is costing you money.

Much like how all hocky parents should have to each spend a year as a Ref, I fully encourage anyone to get into any business of choice to get a broader picture and appreciation of that particular industry.

This is old news. One dealer (who visits CZ often) was to look into cheap magazines...3 years ago.

Not to me daddy-o.

Especially where I only recently got interested in this excellent rifle. But then again, I'm also just starting to dig the new Abba album, so bear with me.

Seriously though. Never hurts to dream of more and cheaper gear.
