We just ordered some 6.5x55, 8mm Mauser, and 7.62x39, and 7.62x54R commercial hunting ammo for the store but I wanted to see if people might want some 30 Carbine 110gr Round Nose Soft Point brought in. It would be $31.99 a box of 50, PRVI. I'm just seeing if there is a need for it.

can you get M1 carbine ball ammo? I'd prefer that. No use getting hunting ammo. Regardless I'd be interested in a case or two of whatever you can get.

Yesah, but Alberta isn't the ONLY province in Canada, is it? Last I checked, the separatist retards here hadn't yet amassed enuf support. And for a change, it's a good thing to live in Quebec, because we CAN hunt with the 30M1 ;)

As mentioned in your other thread, yeah, I'd be interested. I am curious, however, about the claim by kilgour77 that he snags 30M1 @ $25/50....

The new shipment is in and the prices went up thus the higher price. $25/50 is much less than I pay for it.

I have no doubt that it is old stock but they still have a pile of it on the shelf.

ya thats really old but if they price is right buy it. It's not we haven't all shot older ammo in our guns. If it wasn't for surplus we would have nothing to shoot!

"...because we CAN hunt with the 30M1..." The CPFO issuing an ATT for hunting with a restricted firearm? Just because the calibre is legal doesn't mean the rifle is legal to use.

Huh?...with a replaced 19 inch barrel...non restricted.

Yep Its cheap and goes bang meets my criteria, and I am one of the lucky few that do own a non-restricted M1 Carbine so hunting loads would definitely appeal to me and when my stock dries up I would certainly order some from Chemist and the ammo source.

True, but not as many people have non-restricted, the majority are restricted.

Just a few numbers that may not be too accurate from the ottawa citizen gun registry:

In ontario there are 64 registered non-restricted GM Inalnd m1 carbines compared to 186 restricted GM Inalnd m1 carbines. I did not bother checking the other manufacturers, but it probably gives a good idea of what porportion of m1 carbine owners can hunt.

Well at least this time you aren't proclaiming that the M1 Carbine is prohibited.

It'll sit on your shelf for eons. Not enough unrestricted Carbines around.

...and that explains the huge demand on 5.56 which is mostly consumed by AR-15 rifles and their derivatives, which of course cannot be used for hunting either. There hasnt been a good source of this ammo in a long while, lots of people just want to plink.

We should be happy that a dealer wants to bring something like this in ...and at what is a reasonable price.

I don't know that would give you an accurate representation of the ratio of non-restricted to restricted M1's out there as I would assume that a lot more post war rifles were re-barreled than USGI issue rifles.
