Red Rifle Chest Rig

idk those buckles remind me of my bunk issue tac-vest mag pouches which are unnecessary on account of the pouches being ultra high already. I've seen a sgt who was a fibua instructor and he had his cut off. I wish i had some real combat experience and time-in so i could mess around with my gear like that and be legitimate and not look like a supersoldier. haha

Let me preface this by saying this isn't a slag on OST's rig here as we all know they have done the community a huge favor by bringing a very affordable rig to market. This looks like the ideal rig for a shooter who is just gonna plink and have some fun with the bros.

If anyone is looking for something that will hold more mags and hold them firmly no matter what position or activity with the flaps open then I suggest you look at the Eagle Industries 6 mag AK pouch, I ran it on the SMC basic rifle course with the CZ858 and it worked great. In fact 3 of us ran them and all were happy.

Once again for just a good rig for a fun day of shooting this one from OST is good to go. If you want to get into some more strenuous activities the Eagle unit may be a better choice. No I don't sell either example.

I'd guess that depends how fast you're moving. I've lost mags out of un-secured taller pouches than these. You could always line the pouches with loop Velcro and then attach 1" squares of hook Velcro to the mags. That would keep them in without the flap.

Or cut the flaps and buckles off, install rivets front and back, and go with a bungee retention system.

I used the Eagle rig also. Holds two mags per pouch, total of six mags. It was very comfortable. You can flip the flaps behind the pouches for those times you want to have un-impeded access. The mags fit snug, and you could run, go prone, etc, without worry of loosing mags in the no flap position. Mags were snug, but only a firm grasp was needed to pull them out. Each two mag pocket had a divider between mags, so if you only carried one mag per pouch, it still held it equally well. Can't recall the material thickness, but it was not flimsy and you can expect good life out of it. All seams were well sewn. I'll be keeping this chest rig.

I looked into this and from what I understand there was confusion on the color you wanted. I'm sorry for the delay on this.

We have 40 of these on backorder and only the coyote ones arrived in the last shipment.
