My girlfriend and I have been bow hunting in WMU 77, just west of Alliston, Ontario and just north of Highway 50.
The property owner has just called to tell me that he went to check the deer feeder and it has been stolen!
The feeder is a Moutrie, 30 gallon, which sits on a tripod.
It absolutely sickens me with the fact that people steal in general, but what also sickens me is that this is the first year my girlfriend's son has taken an interest in hunting and the outdoors, instead of computer games and television.
We all went to the store to purchase the feeder with her son picking it out. Her son and I both assembled the feeder together, set it up in the woods and for the first time he has been asking to go check the feeder instead of staring at a computer screen or television.
It has been an absolute joy going out with him showing him different aspects of the woods and getting a lot of questions and interest in return.
Now I am sitting here wondering how to explain where the feeder is and that it was stolen.
Am I to put out our treestands to be stolen and ruin a young boys interest in the outdoors.
My girlfriend and I have recently moved, but purposely got our tags in this area so that her son, which lives with his father could be close and share this year's hunting experience.
This is more of a rant than anything, but I can not believe that people have such little ethics to steal.
I am not stopping till I find out where that feeder is. I just hope that my girlfriend's son still keeps his interest.
