this is optices related kinda... I want ot put a receiver sight on my Savage 24V. Anyone know's which model Williams sight would fit on there? I checked out William's web site without finding a satisfactory answer...

Found this reply to a similar post over on 24hourcampfire, can't vouch for it's accuracy but seems informed.


The peep sight that I like on grooved barrel Savage 24 rimfires is the Redfield RE-24, as it mounts in the barrel grooves and doesn't require non-factory holes to be d&t. It also comes with a front sight riser, as the installation of a peep sight will almost always require a higher front sight too.

Other options are:

Lyman 53-D, requires holes to be d&t.
Williams 5D-22-410, requires holes to be d&t.
Williams WGRS-24, mounts in barrel grooves, no d&t required.

I have bought the Redfield sights at gun shows and on eBay with the prices running from $20 to $50.
