Is m-14 legal in Canada?

A genuine M-14 is either 12(2) or 12(3) prohibited. Legal, but if you are not grandfathered, out of reach. If you are grandfathered, you cannot take one to a range and shoot it.
The commercial versions available are non-restricted.

Between what is now a relatively minor ($200) tax stamp (nfa 1934) and the laws regarding importation (1968) and manufacturing (1986) which served to greatly limit the number of full autos available, combined with a demand that seems to be ever increasing buyers are a pretty much at the mercy of sellers. If you think $15k is alot fot a FA M14, then have a look at what mini guns and other rarities go for!

Go have a look at pre-ban MP5's. Here's a good one: civilian registered G18C.

Be prepared for sticker shock.

If an American owner can afford to buy a full auto, he's probably also prosperous enough to feed it. The Dillon who started Dillon reloading equipment has a private collection of mini-guns and ravenous high rate of fire guns.

And, a US military issue Rifle 7.62mm M14 is a prohibited in Canada. There are a very very few legal semi-auto civilian-sale M14-type rifles in the US. But they are very valuable in their own right due to the multitude of US full auto laws.

when you join the "full auto " club down there, you have to be either devoted to the craft or REALLY WELL MONIED- the cheapest i ever saw was either the m16 or the m2 carbine- both were about 12k, - however you can kind of sneak in by having an auto trip sear installed in your ar or carbine- when you play with the bigger boys, be prepared to spend big bucks to get a CERTIFIED rifle mg, or whatever- and pay your 200 head tax provided you live in a state that allows such things- there are those that don't

your second statement in the second paragraph makes little sense to me- unless you're speaking of the national match semi-auto only rifles, and these are real m14s, not m14 types- the way your statemt reads if i interpet it correctly, would mean the likes of the m1a are not readily available- which they are

full auto can also be had for 3 to 4k for a mac 10

for the original poster semi-auto m-14 clone are legal and cheaper here 500$ for a nib polytech

"...The Dillon who started Dillon..." Rumour has it that Mike Dillon, who also has at least one armed jet fighter, got into the reloading business to feed his toys.
"...an auto trip sear installed in your ar or carbine..." Illegal, Stateside, without a manufacturer's licence. Just the sear is considered to be a Class 3 device. Get you 10 years in Club Fed and a huge fine.
"...would not you just buy .50bmg?..." About $10 to $15 US a shot for one thing. Parts for a .50 Browning are expensive too. A front sight hood runs $24.95US. An M2 Browning BMG runs $24,000US. .50's are slick, but not as much fun as an SMG. An SMG doesn't need the same kind of range facilities either. Effective range for a .50 is about 2500 meters. Needs a very good back stop and a big fall zone behind the back stop too.

Is this guy a troll or what? Seems like every one of his posts is asking if something exotic is illegal or asking about huge magazine capacities.

agree:

shooting 50bmg in upright position
maximum firepower ("are we allowed to have a mg42)
m1 garand and g43 legality
dragunov legality
m-14 legality
gun parade

the more i read his threads the more i agree with you aspect

i was wondering that right out of the gate, but decided to "play along" rather than chew a legitimate newbie out- a great deal of the questions asked should have been common knowledge for someone that has a pal/rpal
