So, the wife came up with an excellent idea: You know those pkg's of frozen bun dough you can buy? Take a 6 hole muffin pan, fill it in the morning(they'll rise through the day), after supper put them on the barbeque on low for 10 minutes, they're done. Every morning 6 nice buns for lunches.
We did a trial run, great! Best part...0 prep time.
We thought of the bread dough, but with a small bbq there isn't room for it under the lid.

My wife started hunting with me last yr. The quality of our camp food has definitely improved. I didn't even know it was called a muffin pan, always thought it was for cupcakes!

You one of them guys that used to shop, by multiplying the number of days by 3, and buying that many cans of Irish Stew, and a jar if instant? :D

You don't have to eat like a gourmet (as nice as it can be), but you sure don't have to eat like a heathen, either.

Good idea!

Cheers

No running water or hydro at our camp, but the well, wood stove, & propane fridge all suffice. We bake bread from frozen dough every night. There always seems to be a spiral cut ham & scalloped potatoes, a Cajun-style deep-fried turkey, a home-made Chili or Lasagna, a roast of some sort and if all goes well, BBQ'd venison loin. The only thing I can think of that comes in a can is Carnation milk ... some prefer it in their coffee.
( I know, I know ... beer - but we buy our in bottles ! )

I bake bread, rolls and pie in a collapsible Coleman oven that we got more than 35 years ago. Anyone else use one? They are great on a hunting trp!

that's what coleman #2 is for- the oven - little black job that folds up- use lasagne pans for baking dishes- and you always use the MAIN burner- or have a single burner along- i find the singles don't put out enough heat
