why are kac so0o0 expensive?

n00b... just wondering why kac and larue and such are soooo much more than a bushmaster or stag arms or something of that nature are they actually superior rilfes (more reliable, accurate) and is it worth the extra $$$
 
yep, it has to do with the law of diminishing returns. As the quality increases in a linear manner, the price increases exponentially.

Most companies can build a good solid AR but with not a whole lot of attention to small detail or QC.

Companies like KAC, or LaRue make sure every item is pretty much 100% perfect before its out the door.

You get the little things like.... better quality finish, finer finish machining, better de-burring, better barrels (KAC uses cold hammer forged I think), slightl better grades of steel for critical parts...


All those little things that may seem like not a big deal by themselves, add up and can easily double the price of a product.
 
Military, Government and Law enforcement contracts.
They milk them so they have to do the same to everyone. They can't sell it cheaper to civilians.
They are all about selling to the government, that is were the money is.

Do you own a KAC rifle? Ever handled one first hand? I have 2. and I wouldn't mind another!

I have owned several other different ARs now, KAC, LMT, POF etc...

and honestly speaking, the KAC Sr15E3 is the nicest AR I have ever owned. I love how the gun is designed PERIOD! The SR15 is super light, accurate, durable +25K bolt and barrel life. bad ass!

But it is NOT the best QC'd gun I ever had. Finishing is no way near as good as LMT or noveske. Atleast for the 2 guns I have here, I cant speak for all. Both my guns came with URX rails that were either not deburred well, or looked like the deburring job was done by some noob who gouged into the aluminum with a deburring knife. Not the end of the world as I plan on shooting the s**t out of em. :D
 
I sure would love of of their standard M4 configuration guns, I appreciate the current crop of Canadian imports but they just don't blow up my skirt (from a cosmetic stand point).
 
Could have had one but I did not go for it, I believe I would if given the choice have a Noveske, Yes I have held one & that is why, Simply a I want thing, it has nothing to do with need!!!!!!

No unfortunately, just kind of speculating :p

I'd love to get one, but don't have that kind of money around :p
