Hello,

I have a High Standard H-D military .22 pistol, with holster, and was wondering if anyone could tell me what its worth? I am interested in selling the pistol to fund a German K98 Mauser, and was wondering if it would be on the level value wise?? Any information would be appreciated, the Pistol is in almost new condition with the original wood checkerd grips, two tone 8 shot magazine and nice polished blueing. There is one issue however, the take down pin has come off the pistol. The pistol is fully serviceable, to take the pistol apart, you just have to manually instert the pin, no problems at all. The barell and bore are shiney and in really good shape.
Thanks for your input!

Hi,

There is another High Standard H-D Military for sale on that forum. It sells for $450. For that price the pistol condition should be around 80%. If the condition is better, the price could go up. It is not a rare pistol, but if like new, it could sell for around $1000 to a collector.

There are three different categories of the HD pistol. The pre-war Model HD is by far the rarest and thus the most expensive. We are unlikely to see one of these in Canada.

The WWII gun was called the HD-USA and they were made in moderate numbers. These guns are also fairly rare in Canada and tend to cost a fair bit in good condition.

The post war HD Military guns were made in large numbers and even in excellent shape are not overly expensive. Your gun is probably worth between $400 and $500 CDN.

There is no way an HD Military would ever be worth $1000 even brand new in the box.

not trying to Hijack but where can you find info on these pistols based on ser#s

you have one Mike? I got a great deal on a 106 military model, 5" bull barrel with thumb rest grip...lightest and nicest trigger I have.
