Old desireable .22's

There are quite a number of excellent older rifles. Win 75s, Rem 37s. Brno 4s have been mentionned. Used a salvaged Brno Model 4 action to make a .22 sihouette rifle.
 
Dang, I have recently come across a Mossberg 146BA with a 26" barrel that is actually shooting the lights out for me. (I had to take off the peep sights and scope it as my eyes are not what they used to be). I am actually amazed at its accuracy. One small ragged hole at 50 yards. Occasional flyer if I use bulk ammo like Dynapoints.
 
Gun show this coming weekend, I have written everything down you all have mentioned, and I hope to stumble on something, I am keeping my fingers crossed!

Came home empty handed. There were 3 BRNO rifles, one was $475, and two were both priced at $600. I didn't research enough to know what was a good price, one was in very good condition at $600 and the other two were good condition. I saw no Winchester or Remington target rifles, I may have missed them if they were there, but I scoured for a good couple of hours and didn't see any. Lots of old Cooey's, Lakefields, some Mossbergs- but condition of these weren't desirable. Savages are very popular, and the Mark II's were everywhere from the light barreled versions to the bull barrelled BTVS's, etc... and I saw a Winchester Wildcat Target/Varmint model. But, what I was hoping to see was a CIL/Anschutz, or one of the desirable Winchesters or Remingtons. One of those BRNO's would have been the taker, but not being prepared- I didn't know what I should be paying. Anyone have some input on them? I believe they were #4's. I could always run back tomorrow and check them out again, maybe last day of the show might bring a better price! One rifle that was really neat, was a "Vickers" I think it was? Never heard of that name before. HUGE target barrel, target sights and a beautiful wooden stock with the familiar Anschutz grip design. A beautiful old rifle. I am going to google it, and see what I can find out about it.
 
I paid $400 for my brno#4 a few years back ,saw one online at epps can't recall exact price but 500-600 i believe.Check year made tho anything stamped 70"s or later are worth less.

You wouldn't happen to know where to get some magazines for a 513T would you? I have one, but with no magazine.
 
Oldies but goldies:

-Anschutz 54,
-Remington 40X rimfire (the only Remington rifle worth having),
-Winchester 52,
-CZ model1,
-some old Coopers (without
the stupid engravings with Santa Claus scenery),
-some Romanian trainers in reasonable shape,
-some Mauser KKW copies made after ww2 (FN israeli trainers, MAS45)
-some Russian rimfire rifles.
 
I've been getting into the groove with my BSA 12/15, yesterday I shot a 10 shot / 100 yard group with Lapua Club that was - I didn't measure it but I'm gonna say it was conservatively 1-3/4" high by 3/4" wide with the peep sights, so they are accurate enough that's for sure, one thing is that unless mine is one of the later models, I don't think the trigger is adjustable, I'm going to have to tear it down to see if it is one of these days.
 
Be careful FT, Silverback had his when he bought it was so light, the gun would fire by merely closing the action.
Make sure you have a scale of sorts to measure the pull weight. And carefully just clean up the trigger/sear engagement area, before you commit to any actual adjustments.

PS: In the past it was very common for UK target shooters, to just remove the visual cocking indicater, to decrease locktime.

I have one that occasionally does the same.

Need to get in behind the trigger with a stone and give it a wee bit more sear engagement. Right now the trigger is just a little too light/short. ;)
 
This thread has been very helpful. I appreciate all the posts, as some of the model rifles listed here, I never knew existed. Thanks for all the insight, you guys have really helped me know what to look for when shopping around. Thanks!
