My local Canadian Tire has Federal 30-30 for $16 a box. I forget if they are Power-Shok or Vital-Shok.
Is this stuff any good for whitetails?

I am always amazed at how people think if they bought ammo from Canadian Tire, it would automatically be inferior!
Do they think the large ammunition makers manufacture cheap, inferior ammo just so they can sell it cheaply to Canadian Tire?
Edited to say I bet the Canadian Tire store in Whitehorse sells a LOT of ammunition!

Oh, I have nothing against Canadian Tire - it's just that this is the cheapest stuff there, and Federal says it's good for does and culling or something like that . . . so I wondered if they had some horribly inefficient bullet or similar defect.

Could be because they got junk tools or something? I've had some crap from "Crappy Tire." But I do get my .22 ammo and sometimes cheap shotshells there and they work fine.
Anyway, I was just curious about the Federal blue box stuff. I have no doubt that their ammo is the same as the stuff everyone else is selling.

What im referring too is people who think that a product purchased from CT is somehow inferior to the exact same make and model product bought from a specialty shop.

Works as well as anything else out there and it will kill stuff if you put the lead on the mark.
