The Frosty Farky is, at this point, now full. If you would like your name on a waiting list incase of cancellations please send me a PM or email.

This year we can accommodate 36 shooters.
We have 6 Benchrest spots and 30 prone spots total. (5 of the 6 BR spots are already taken leaving 1 spot available.)

The range will be open at 3PM Friday Sept 25th for sighting in and barrel fouling.

Both Mystic Precision and Adams Lake Riflebarrels have graciously donated the use of a rifle for new shooters looking to try out an F-Class event, I also will put up one of my own rifles for use by a new shooter.

See my post lower down for complete details.

Cost for the 2 day event is $60 with 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes for BR, F-O, F-R and TR.
Price includes paid target pullers for the 2 days.

Awards will be given out for TR, BR, F-O and F-R.

Entry form can be downloaded from http://www.riflebarrels.ca/assets/images/farky.pdf

Please note that 2 changes have been made to the entry form if it is not already updated when you download it.

Start times will be 0830 each day, not 0900
Saturday's first relay has been cut back to 1 non convertible fouling shot, 2 convertible sighters and 15 for score, rather than the 5 minute unlimited sighters and 15 for score.

This event sold out last year so get your entires in quickly.

We have primitive camping facilities at our range with lots of room for trailers, RV's, Tents etc.
No power or water at the range but we do have nice clean, 1 yr old, outhouses. :D

In case you were curous as to what F-Class shoting is about, I posted a small story onthe Precison rifle forum that tells a bit more about this.

Hey, Richard, I see that if we hurry up and get a few more F-Class entries, this will be an almost pure F-Class event!

I have worked out some details on loaner rifles for those who have not shot in an event like this but are seriously considering getting into F-Class.

PM me for details.

You are encouraged to at least bring and shoot your own factory Bolt Action rifle for either the first day, or a portion of the first day. This will possibly show people where their money is best spent when considering a build of this sort. Factory vs Custom build.

If you have any questions or concerns send me a PM.

Loaners will be offered on a first come, first served basis via PM. I will then get you in touch with the rifle owner so you guys can work out exact details.

Will there be a " Hunter" class or category whereby a feeble old man (me) with failing eyes and a shaky but itchy trigger finger could play ?
Or would I have to run with the Big Boys ? :)

Kevan,

There is no hunter class for the frosty but I know Ian is planning to have Hunter Class in his running of the V-Bulls match in Oct.

1 spot left.

For those marked as PP that have yet to send your entry in, please do so. I am receiving calls daily asking if there is still room.

You pay, you play. :D

Thanks

We are now full for this event.

If you wish to get your name on the cancellation wait list, send me a PM or email.

You never know, someone may have to bow out for some reason.

I wasn't sure if this post is kosher or not, as it probably belongs in the EE, but here goes: now that the Farky is full, I wanted to mention that I'll be bringing (to sell) 60 rounds of commercial Mauser 8mm, and 180 rds of NATO surplus 7.62x51, if anyone is interested. I figured this way there'd be no extra charges for shipping/courier.
Maybe we could get a small swap/sale thing going too?
Mods, feel free to delete this if it isn't appropriate.

Keith,
You and Glen drive careful getting there. Our rock cuts are not as big or "sudden stops" near as bad as the ones west of you.Are you guys going for the "most miles logged" trophy this year??
Wish I could have made it.Have fun.Be safe.
Gord

Thanks Gord, I hear BC's been burning the bush pretty good so at least we can see the rocks better. Got a ton of miles covered already and more to go. Rattlesnake in Washington is after BC, then Pheonix. Hopefully I can skip Christmas. Too expensive. Kids want to much. I need gun stuff.

Cheers, Glen

Keith,
Are you guys going for the "most miles logged" trophy this year??
Gord

Glen wins that one too. He drives to shoots from Leduc to Homestead Range west for Calgary or to NorthStar Range east of Nokomis,SK every couple of weeks.

Next year will be the record year for miles logged. We are planning Sac CA end of March, then maybe Phoenix CA or Rattlesnake WA, then local matches in Canada from May thru July, then Manitobia early Aug, then BC Provs end of Aug. and then off to Douglas Ridge in Sept, then back to Canada for maybe the Frosty in Kamloops! We need a jet LMAO.

Yes Keith I got your check...Glens showed up today as well.....don't worry....your spots are safe!!! LOL

I just haven't put the cheques in the bank yet.....so much to do!!!
