North Eastern Arms VZ/CZ Railed Handguard and Muzzle Brake (with pics!)

Will do.

Once again I went to the range to shoot it today, but ended up clearing brush and garbage this time.:(

I feel for you; you must be one of those funny guys that:
- thinks every shooter should do his part cleaning around...
- finally spends more time cleaning, helping and restoring than shooting.

I know, I'm one of them...:welcome:
Oh well...
PP. ;)

Yeah the CZ is a "Why not?" piece. It is a kick ass rifle, i buried mine in sand, kicked it around, have been rough with it, not cleaned it for 2500rds.

Now with the NEA handguard i can have irons and red dot on the rifle, even if they don't co witness, just not a big issue to me.

Good job on the rail.

I read that review you did for a particular training forum.

Played a large part in convincing me that I need to get one. Or two.

Buy two, or your #### will fall off.

I saw 15k through 6 different CZ's in 4 days produce 3 (three) malfunctions. One stuck case, 2 feeding issues.

For some reason, I always have a real pita zeroing my Aimpoint. In this case it was due to the lining up the dot with the stock sights, when the front sight was not centered.

Regardless, with albertacoyotecaller's assistance I finally got it set up. Unfortunately, I was pushed for time and the test is quite brief.

Three shot groups were fired at circles 1, 2, and 3, at 25m. 1 was after zeroing, 2 was after removing and reinstalling, and 3 was after removing and reinstalling again. I was using a 4 MOA dot Aimpoint Comp M2. The rifle was benched with mag resting on the table. As you can see, there is some variation in where the groups hit, but they're well within acceptable for the target design, the high brightness setting on the M2, wobbly rest, and the fact I'm a lousy shot, IMO. , I'm confident in saying that the rail is top quality and well worth the money.

One item to note, the set screw that holds the ball detent for the pin loosened off and I was able to easily remove the pin with my fingers. A little Loc-tite took care of that issue. You can also replace the NEA pin with your stock hand guard pin. I also noticed a slight variation in hand guard pin hole size on my two rifles.

Awesome! One that was easy to mount, holds 0 and reasonable cost was a long time coming and cannuck to boot!

So is there a bottom rail or one in the works for vg or bipod? Will it work with a fab bottom handguard?

The bottom guard is on the machines now and should be ready in Oct. Believe it or not, these have been in the design/prototype/almost production state for over a year. the upper that finally shipped was version 4 and the lower will be version 3. I wanted to make sure we put out a product that is reliable, well made, good looking and functional............. basically something that i would want to use.

I guess i should really introduce NEA - North Eastern Arms in a separate post or on our website which is coming soon, but her it goes. We are an Aerospace Manufacturing/consulting company who have been in business for over 15 years. we have been in Aircraft for 3 generations now, dating back to my grandfather who worked at De havillands in the UK on Mosquito's during WW2. My dad was an executive with Bombardier and Boeing before starting his own business. As for me, i did my machining apprenticeship in an aerospace environment before moving on to other positions.

As we bring more products to market you will have a chance to see our years of manufacturing experience displayed in the components we build. Perhaps on the new non restricted black rifle we are working to bring to market ;)

Shawn:

Wolverine does their best to update the sight, but I beleive it happens about once a week, on Wednesday.

This is a new development, I suggest you try it old school, give them a call, and speak to Ryan.

Remember, they are in Manitoba, so time zone difference may apply depending on where you are calling from.
