Whats the factory code on the left side of the reciever? It should be the numbers inside a tri-angle if I'm not mistaken. I've got what has been refered to as an Sino - Soviet, but the factory coding is tough to figure out. My code is a 316, but the fit and finish is awesome compared to my son's, his is a commerical model. I was told mine is State Arsenal when I bought it.
Thanks

the factory /26\ should be after the serial numbers (SN) on the left side of the receiver.

sino are only from factory 26 .

heres a list of factory codes .

could you post a pic of the SN?

tok : yours is not a sino-soviet , sino was only built at factory 26 in the year of 1956 , this is the first year the chinese SKS were built with russian supervision and russian spare parts , sino has a unique SN , symbol/letter followed by 4 digits then followed by /26\ or 6 numeric followed by /26\. if it has 7 numeric then that would not be a sino but the millionth number can translate to the year built , eg:

2,000,000 /26\ is 2+1956=1958

7,000,000 /26\ is 7+1956=1963

unfortunately the above formula only applies to /26\ bcos we know when /26\ started production so we can add the millionth numbers and come up with the year of production .

due to the cold war, chinese military info were closely gaurded so we have no idea when the rest of the factory started production.

however from the features of your rifle, mainly the short barrel lug, i could categorize your sks as mid-production (late 60s thru end of 70s).
