I'm sure alot of you have seen this but for those of you that haven't i think its an okay review.Hes not right when he says its a variant but he covers alot of good points.

What an appalling review! He calls the vz. 58 a derivative of the AK and then fumbles around for 5 minutes without saying anything relevant.

About half a year ago (i think) I tried to correct the guy, but he wouldn't listen. Gave him facts, sources etc. Looks like he finally just disabled comments though.

The development of guns went: SVT-40 to SKS to AK, basically it's generation 1, 2, and 3.

The Czech armory went from bolt action to VZ-52 (basically Czech version of SKS), but when USSR switched to a new generation of arms (AK), Czech decided to modify their VZ-52 to make it shorter, full-auto, with larger mag, etc to comply with Warsaw Pact military requirements. However, basically, it's like SKS (VZ-52 actually) on steroids (think generation 2).

That video is pure shhiitt. The two designs have nothing in common, except caliber. But then again, lots of bolt actions fire the same round. It doesn't make them the same. He's a videographer who disabled comments about his garbage.

That photo heavy page perfectly illustrates how rough and shoddy the ak is v.s the more precision (and yet quite rugged) the machining is on the vz.. even if i lived in the states im starting to think i would choose the vz over the two

Just to be absolutely sure, the VZ 58 is the full-auto military rifle whereas the CZ 858 is the one we Canadians can buy?? (as I will be within the next couple of weeks)

You could do exactly what he is doing in that video with a 1911 and a Glock 21.

These guns are exactly the same, SEE, they both have one dot on the front sight and two dots on the back sight. IDENTICAL!

The slide moves back on both guns, so they are basically identical.

They both have a trigger. See? Identical.

Was just reading an American magazine and they got a 1 and 5/8 inch 3 shot group at 100 yards using Norinco Match.

I've seen AR's do worse.
