Daniel Defense Omega Rail. Rail covers. Stubby Grip....Is that over $400 worth of goodies on there.
Nope. Not even $100 delivered to my door from Hong Kong. Never moved, never broke and as you can see, grip and sight attached with no issues.

OK, so the package arrived.
The rail looks good. A little heavier than I had expected. Although, pleased to anounce that the rail is not steel but, rather aluminium and annodized not painted. The rails are straight, mil spec 1913 picatinny in style and size. Everything seems solid.
The package came with the following: top and bottom rails, 6 hex screws (2 extra screws), 12 individual rail covers and, the VFG.

I tell you something about pricing. Unions are killing us. I run a small business and do a lot of the work myself which keeps the cost down. When I worked for a large company god help you if you picked up your own garbage or moved your desk as it was someone elses job. I would still get my hourly wage doing nothing but waiting for someone to show up, then watching something to be completed by someone else that could take up to several hours (mostly wait time) which I would have competed in 10 min.
As for the quality,there is junk from China as we have seen in the past, lead laced toys and contamininated food products are examples. However, many of the large North American manufactures have moved their production to China for several reasons, unions and cost of labour. The items made for these North American companies in China are to the same standard as they were made in North America so do not kid yourself about China made goods. Many things that you may think are made in North America are now made in China.

First Range Report!
OK, so I finally made it out to the range since putting the UTG rail and VFG on.
So, 240 rounds down range (had to be quick 'cause the sun goes down early these days) and besides the tedius amount of time it takes to load 240 rounds in 4 pinned magazines.... the unit performed admirably.
Shooting drills - prone to kneeling to standing and back down to prone, transition from strong side to weak side, transition from rifle to pistol and, mag changes etc etc.
The VFG even got slammed pretty hard into the dirt a couple of times on over zealous standing to prone drills.
When I got home I checked the locking screws, the placement of the VFG and general overall set up. Happy to report that all held together, no movement or loosening of screws (I did loctite them though).
No problems to report. Very happy with it so far.
Like I have said in the past, I don't use my AR as a battering ram or baseball bat but, it is certainly not a safe queen. Will update periodically or, answer any questions about the system. So far so good. Do not regret the purchase.

Actually that is not true. Their material may be made with an attempt to bring the marterial to the 6160 spec but most of the time they fail to achieve it..... which is why no northamerican aircraft manufacturers have been reluctant to approve chinese raw material suppliers. From what i understand, Boeing requires that the material for components made in china come from approved sources in europe or north america.
The Nuclear groups in Canada and the U.S have banned chinese metals from being used in the manufacturing of critical components because the chinese produce junk when it comes to producing raw metals for machining.
Very good point Deckard, UTG stuff should hold up in any Civi 3 gun match for years, as far as the Sandbox, I have no experience on that topic!!!

For sandbox fun zone, it would be wise to invest in DD, or the like.

), the UTG will do the job just fine.I have a UTG mini-rail on my CQ556 that I installed to mount a bipod. Bought from Questar. First one broke in half lengthwise on the left side corner. Questar replaced no problem. Second one made an ominous crack when I was attempting to torque the mounting screws.
I don't think the dimensions are quite right as even when you put the proper bushings in place it is impossible (for me at least) to get even tightness on the two mounting screws. Tighten one the other is loose. Snug that one up and the first one is loose.
I haven't been to the range to see what the situation is but I'm guessing it's fractured too. I think the material is just too light and brittle for combat weaponry.

I'm sure many will say this is an "isolated case" where as others will disagree. Regardless, this is the risk one takes when running low quality gear. It if works, great. If it doesn't, it's nothing but a headache. You won't have these issues with DD, Troy, Laure, MI, Samson, YHM, or any other quality brand name.
