Does anyone know if anyone makes a mag conversion for the Ruger M77 Hawkeye to get rid of the hinge plate they currently use on factory guns?

Thanx for your help.

Unless you are in and out of vehicles all day, i don't know why anyone would ant to take a fine hinged floorplate rifle and scab on a detach magazine...

Except for the trigger on the newer Mark IIs ( can't speak for the Hawkeyes - never tried one), you're probably right. I was looking for a rail so I could quickly switch from glass optics to a red dot for heavy bush and dark morning and evening hunts

Warne makes quick-detach rings for Ruger integral bases, which would work if you went with something long enough like an Aimpoint 9000L.

Alternately, you could use a low-magnification variable like 1-4x or 1.5-5x. It would be almost as good a a red dot at low magnification, but with the ability to turn up the magnification for longer shots. This way, you would only need one optic.

Ruger M77's have quick detach rings...all you need is a toonie..and another scope setup in rings....
