If heat is such a big issue, then i would be worried about having bolt on side rails made of material that is not the same as the body like the others do. As different metals have different heat flex points one may move the other when it expands. I dont actually believe this, but just pointing out the flaw in the logic introduced earlier........... i still dont understand how adding more material just to have vents is a good idea. From a side profile they are all similar in that neither allows air flow. With vents across the top you are either introducing the gas system to the external environment or the piston is covered and not different then mine. the only difference is that mine is Canadian made, lighter and lower as well as easier to removed.I would also be concerned about the ability to hold zero when you are having to bolt the unit together every time you want to clean them. To many surfaces to hold dirt and debris and throw things off.
It can be drilled for themwill it have side rails?
