how many of us are waiting???

I heard Griffoneur say 6 months before, it kinda sounded like a joke, but not really.

I also seem to remember someone calling the CFC complaining about the transfer time from their provincial CFOs office, seems after a complaint was made, there transfer was pushed through right way.

I can't exactly remember though, it was a little while ago that I read it.

Good luck

I ordered mine the last week of August.

The QC CFO office told me it would most likely be processed near the end of September, citing internal procedures as the reason. While I will be following up with them next week, one thing's for sure: I am not waiting six months for my purchase.

If it doesn't go through in the next week or two, I'm canceling the transfer and asking for a refund.

That is absolutely rediculous and unfair. Restricted should be restricted. Sounds like Quebec gun owners need to talk to their MLA's and complain and cry LOUDLY about dicrimination . It sure wouldn't hurt.

6 months?! :X

When I got my USC a few months ago, it took.... 1 week from the time I payed for it and provided my info, to me picking it up.

I bought it on monday, and had it by friday (from P&D BTW)

I literally called on tuesday and they faxed the TATT to P&D the next day. (could have picked it up on wednesday, but worked wednesday and thursday.)

you guys need to move to a free province :p

I completed the transfer of an AR-15 (not my first) on August 15.

My references were called on Aug 19. I called twice to the CFO in Montreal to check on the transfer, was told it takes longer here because of the Dawson incident (even though I am in instructor for C-9).

My transfer was signed on September 16, one month minimum for AR-15's.

I would advise anyone waiting to be polite when calling to ask about their transfer.

Many months of waiting is unacceptable. I would write a short letter to my MP.

One of the reasons I don't buy any firearms from Quebec.......

If you buy in Quebec, you will get your rifle at the same time as in your province. This is only a "quebec" thing caused by the recent shooting at Dawson college.

But anyway, you will end up paying more tax for it (14%) so I suggest Bantario,BC and all other province with just GST tx.

I'd be frustrated if i sold a restricted to a first time RPAL buyer and had to sit on it for 7 months!

Got this issue with www.blueline-activities.com. After purchase, they told me that 6 month was too much and storage for that amount of time would be a problem.

Dealers in Quebec are used to this but Im scared that dealers out west wont want to sell us rest. rifle anymore.
I also bought from Frontierfirearms.com and they were gentlemen enuff to call me and warn me about the waiting...

By the way, does the warranty starts when you purchase the rifle or when you get it??? Makes a big (6month) difference...

It does sound like total B.S. What takes 6 months to do? Your app probably moves two or three times during that time period, otherwise it just waits.

My brother called cfc and was really rude so the controller replied: your app is on somebody's desk right now and will sit there until we process it so there no reason for you to call back!

Its been 4 month now...

What?!?!?

WTF happened? I bumped up my regular PAL up to include restricted guns a couple years back and it only took a couple weeks. I have since bought a couple pistols and an AR and the paperwork cleared in a couple days!

Canada seriously needs to shove its gun laws up some liberal's bunghole and start over because that is just bullchit. All these morons are doing is encouraging the black market.

Well sorry for the CGN'ers in PQ. Your CFO sucks. I know that the honest people who are going through the CFC ropes are suffering personal wait times but ... lets consider some facts ... there have been a few well documented (suicidal gunman rampage type) shootings in Quebec starting with Mr. Lapine (who caused all these gun restrictions) and recently with the wanna-be-goth-tard at Dawson college. So any reactionary law aimed at stopping these would have to be aimed at high capacity semi-autos.

I dont recall as many school shootings in the rest of Canada ... so I imagine that the PQ CFO is dealing with an internal issue. Im sure you guys will get your AR's ... but the special 6 month wait is specialty for Quebec alone (for now).

My friends in PQ were always suffering from this crap, detailed 1 year long LTATT's and so many restrictions that its almost not worth it to have a gun...

I dont understand the correlation between a crazy piece of #### that commits a horrible act and a good citizen.

So a federal employee of Canada purposely stalls commerce and sits on his/her ass drinking coffee/crossword puzzles purposely wasteing our tax dollars doing nothing?

I cant believe this happens especially in the fine province of Quebec which is well known for its inovation and hard work :)

I can't believe so many are in shock. The long wait for a restricted rifle is nothing new in Quebec, after the Dawson event, anyways. "Internal procedures" is code for "we're purposely delaying it, because we believe it will stop another Dawson event". Little known fact: The CX4 the perp had was the only restricted rifle he was in posession of at the time of the events.

Quit ranting on CGN you quebec'ers, and file for a FOI request on this "internal procedure".
