This is a wild looking shotgun. I couldn't find it on the companies website, so I figure frontier put them together. its a single shot

It wouldn't be the most stable firing platform as all stockless pistol grips are. but it would be a good backpacking shotty.

But who knows. Maybe it comes fixed with a full stock, and thats just a pic of the firearm with the factory provided pistol grip.

My 870 with 18.5" barrel and pistol grip meets OAL specs for non-res. So I'd bet this does too. Just barely, but I bet it is long enough.

Wrong.

Your 870 with PG also has a nice long receiver in the middle... thats what keeps it at > 26" OAL.

This Rossi has an 18" bbl, and not much else behind it to fill up the extra 8" required. There is no way that from the breech face to the back of the pistol grip is 8".

Why is it "useless"? I think as a home defence gun/backpacker it's far from useless.

agree with above posts , plus in Canada there really isn't such a thing as a home defence firearm....

Its mechanically identical to the Dominion Arms backpacker, but with a longer barrel, and a pistol grip. With the longer barrel, its OAL is legal, and it probably doesnt have the forestock issue..... knowing how hard my DA Backpacker kicks, Im not sure I'd want to try and pistol grip something like that though.

It says the barrel is 18". You mean to tell me there is 8 1/2" from the breach to the "pistol grip". I highly doubt it.
