Well with Moose season already started or creeping up fast what is everyone gonna bringing with them for a go-to Gun/Scope/Cartridge?? Oh yah...pics are mandatory for this thread :p .

October 10th I'll be 500 Km's North of here and I'll be toting the Sako Model 85 LSS topped with a Leupold FXIII 6X42 and spitting out 225 grain Hornady SST's at around 2500 fps using H4895 powder...

Here it is with my first ever Bull tag...

I'm leaving Friday, October 16th for an area near Sherbrooke.

I'll be using a Browning BAR MkI in .300 WinMag 180gr, topped with a 3-9x40 Bushnell(can't afford the Leupold just yet).

Hoping to get my first moose this year.
If I had had a female permit last year I would have had a broadside shot at about 50 yards at a huge female. But no female permit so no moose :(:(

338-06 24" Gaillard barrel, Leupold dual dovetail mounts, lapped rings, 3.5 x 10 Boone & Crockett, 700 trued action, Kwik-Klip conversion, Defensive Edge bolt knob added, 2.25 pound trigger job, glass bedded and floated, 8.25 pounds and shoots 1/2 m.o.a. with a 225 grain Hornady at 2700 f/s. It also has a 7mm-08 barrel I can swap back on... and a Decel pad added...

Already been. I took my Sako AIII in 30-06 with VXII 3-9x50. We got the bull to come within 25' - I was wishing for open sights, I'll tell ya. It was an experience I won't soon forget.

Thanks - like I said, it was a rush.

I won't be taking it moose hunting again. Looking at either a 2-7x33 or 2.5-8x36. The 3-9x50 is better for our rather wary deer.

Going right after Thanksgiving.
Taking my Tikka SS M695 in .338WM and its baby brother in .30-06 as a spare.
Just shooting Federal factory fodder.
Due to family issues, no time to work up my own loads.:(
