So I finally got to the range with my new collection of rim fires,Ruger Mark 1 & 2
Savage 64 & Sears 8C (cooyey) I started with CCI Velocitor hollow points not to bad on the FTF or FTE maybe 4 out of 70, I switched over to Remington game loads what a pile of crap every 3rd shot either FTF or FTE. I also dont think the Rugers like hollow point that much either I just picked up some Winchester Dyna Point copper plated hope they work out better. Any body in vancouver area want the Remington garbage they can have it other wise I'm going to trash it never again for Remington for me. Anybody else have this experience?:(

Haha rimfire ammo... one mans trash is another mans treasure. Every rimfire rifle likes a different type of ammo, accept Wildcats I dont think I have met anybody who likes them :p

I use Winchester 333s almost exclusively in all my .22s. They vary in manufacture and actions. No new ones for sure. Never had a problem with the ammo, went thru over 24 bricks so far this year and just needed to clean the semis bolts, which is normal. Remington could not pay me to use their ammo and many others just would not pass the test. Do not need the high end ammo for the varmint fields I shoot in as you would go bankrupt in a week paying for the stuff. Each gun seems to like a certain ammo but they all liked the 333s . A bit of sight adjustment was all that was needed for accuracy.

I did.

PGM449, buy youself a bolt, lever or pump and you'll never have those problems again. I used to run autoloaders exclusivly but you can only have so many jams, loading issues or weak strikes before you lose your patiance. Ever since I went to manual loaders, I've never had so much fun without the cussing shooting a .22. If you want to play with the toys you have you'll need hi velocity stuff. My favorite was the Remington Cyclone. It was dirty but always cycled good, that is until I found a bad lot. My Model 60 never liked Federals bulk stuff but my friends 597 did and I don't think our Rugers had any issues with them this Spring. Check them out and have fun.

I'll take your Remington trash, please. Where do I pick it up?

It works sometimes (misfires 1 out of 3) in my S&W 17-2, but squeezing the trigger again doesn't bother me. It corrects my flinch.:)

I'm in the GTA, otherwise I'd be happy to "help you out"......:p

Remington .22 ammo belongs in older Remington bolt-guns....:yingyang:......and it's great when used in the right firearm, really! :)

My Cooey 600 hated pretty much everything, anywhere from 90% to 50% FTFs, was pissed off with it. However I just got some CCI Blazers from a gun show and the 600 shoots them like 99% it is awesome. I just wish I bought more of them for 20 bucks a brick cause Crappy Tire was 26 or something like that for them.

It cost me $30 for a single brick at the range........but, then again, I never see them in my neck of the woods.....:yingyang:

I hope you're kidding.

I've never had good results from Remington .22 ammo, EXCEPT for the Viper ammo. Thunderbolt is filthly, and GameLoad is junk. BTW, I've found this to be true in every .22 I've ever shot this stuff out of.

I use American Eagle .22 ammo in my 22's, and I've never had any problems with it. OP, give that ammo a try.

Okay thanks for the replies guys now I dont feel so bad any good experiences on the Dyna points I bought, I think most of the feed problems was because they were hollow points seemed to hang up alot

You try polishing the feed ramps a bit if they are hanging up? Also how new are these guns cause they will probably suck until they break in, polishing them up will quicken the break in process.

i ve got a bad batch of win 333 ammo one time...all my rugers and rimfire carbines swallow everything throwed at them, but i always found the 333 the crappiest between all.

i like federals 525 bulk copper plated, cheap but quite consistent, for 200 yards targets i use eley standard ammo and it is realy consistent, the best i can get to date for consistency, but federal copperplated is pretty good for my rimfire handguns.

Really?...

Filthy .22 ammo was meant to be used in bolt-guns with significant firing-pin "imprint-ability", right? :yingyang:

The plated HP's or the lead round-nosed ones? :)

I wasn't looking to start any wars with what I said.....:p......it's just that some ammo was "meant" (just) for plinking and, for those types of ammunition, it's important to realize that/recognize which types of firearms will digest 'em.....

That said, some of the Remington ammo has turned out shockingly interesting accuracy (and even functioning) in the least-expected places..........I have a friend who swears by Thunderbolts in his 597....:D

I also vouch for CCI BLAZER for plinking ammo.

THis is the MOST consistent stuff out there and I don't think I'm alone on that one. Once you've tried it, you'll never go back to using absolute shxt bulk packs like Wally world winchester white box.

Actually IMO CCI makes the best overall .22lr ammo in general.

There's no contest between it (being good) and Win Wildcat (being "less-good")......;)

Been researching good ammo...DYNAPOINTS have been completely praised by 10/22 crowd. Apparently it's great...I've stored up 1500 for when I finally get my 10/22
