I was reading a post where Marstar were not were not happy with several issues involving this "new production" and therefore do not carry them. In all seriousness should I buy a used norc instead of a polytech because the quality or issues with them? I never handled or seen both so I guess I am asking those in the know. Are the receivers and barrel the same on both?

When I was talking with Hungry the weekend before last he seemed to think that the new Polys were good to go. Did Marstar elaborate on why they thought the new Polys weren't? Or was Marstar just careful to omit exactly what the issue was? Could be that it's not the actual rifle that has issues, but something like a purchasing contract issue or something else along those lines.

I handled a few of the new polys at the halifax clinic, and they seemed great. Side by side with my 2007 norc I wasn't savvy to any major differences, aside from the plasic stock. The black plastic stock looked pretty sharp actually.

I have 2 2007 norcs, and looking at one of the new polys at Epps, I thought the new rifles looked great (but they could have some serious issues like deformed head spaces, etc)

All Chinese semi-auto M14 rifles / receivers (Norinco & Poly Tech) were manufactured
at State Arsenal 356 in the Yunnan Province. Norinco is the export company.
