742 issue

The clip in my Remington 742 Woods master keeps falling out when i shoot. The clip does show some signs of wear and tear but still looks good enough that it should not be falling out. I guess what im asking is have any other 742 owners had this problem with the clip or do you think i need to have the clip latch replaced.

It probably only needs to be refitted to the rifle. Not a big job.
It wouldn't hurt to have a spare anyway but it may also need to be fitted to the rifle.

In my experience 90% of the problems with the 742s are related to the magazine.
Jamming, failure to feed etc. can often be cured by a new magazine. Never heard of one falling out though.

i spit and yelled at that thing before i sold it to you but im sure it needs a new clip latch

Get a new mag, and check the latch, as well as the forward detent where it secures itself.
