Wow, very nice :)

(dumb question, do you recycle/reuse the metal chips? Hadn't thought about it before but there must be an awful lot of scrap left over after months of machining. Just curious :) )

I would love to say yes we recycle the chips, and there are a ton of them, but last time we took several bins of chips down that weighed about 1000 pounds I got $1.56 for them all so now save alot of gas money by tossing them in our dumpster:mad:
For me to spend a couple of hours and $20.00 in diesel to take them to a metal recycler and get nothing for them makes NO financial sense.
The city will not allow commercial vertures like us to have recycle bins except for paper and cardboard and again at a cost, so I guess the tree huggers are going to be pissed:eek:

Man! The recyclers are hungry for our chips, the shop I work at fills about 3 5' by 7' by 4' bins with aluminum chips a week, full to overflowing and as far as I know, that's how our christmas and summer parties are paid for, in full.

I hear ya on how useful an EDM would be, great for having the ability to work carbide and hardened steels for custom tooling and small parts.

What kind of machine time are you looking at on those puppies anyhow, minus setup?

Rick, I don't know what recycler you went to, but I always go to Ace/Rainbow Salvage on Ogden Rd SE. I'm primarily bringing in scrap copper, but I find them to be way more trustworthy on thier scales, as well as giving wayyy better prices than their competition. Calgary Metals just south down the road from Ace fall just short of wearing balaclavas and pointing a pistol at you when you cross their scales.

Nice pieces you've conjured up there. Glad to see ATRS's R&D department isn't idle. :)

Here ya go.

I took these of the DBM kit before ano so they show better against the black stock, but unless speced for natural finish they come black.
