GRRRR....So angry!

The camp was on private ground. We have never really had any trouble up there before this. OPP say they have an idea who it is as there have been reports of a "suspicious" vehicle in the area. Sad thing is....I had my trail cam there until 2 weeks ago when I took it down to replace batteries and never hung it back up...

Probably best if we never find out who did it...someone might get locked up.

Thanks for all the replies lads...much appreciated

I would not be surprised if it was just bored little sh*ts with nothing else to do with their time. My family owns some Passenger rail cars stored in the Railway yard. When we got them in 1998 they were just taken out service and in excellent shape. Now, they look like sh*t. Over the years their have been small break ins, some small damages but nothing too bad. But a few years ago two little Sh*ts decided to break all the windows on one side. their were over 60 of them, total damage is around $12,000. The two kids were just walking by the cars (trespassing on railway property) and decided to spend around half an hour throwing rocks. They also broke in and smashed a whole bunch of lights, and furniture. They were caught, not my RCMP but the railways own police. But since they were only 15 and 16 they got a slap on the wrist (but its ok as they had to pay around $100 each, so it all worked out in the end.:mad:)

Other damages by others have been smashed doors, attempts to start fire, and people taking sh*ts is the toilets, sinks and cups.

FWIW, In Ontario if you build a cabin on crown land without a permit/lease, the MNR will burn it down...[/QUOTE]

Are you serious??? Wow thats BS!

I would still plan to go to your camp this year and instead of hunting as a group spend the week rebuilding your camp, you may find this will be the most rewarding deer hunting trip ever, accomplishing that deed for the 2 old guys.;)

if you can get some poles like on this tent..i,ll lend it to you for the hunt..its a woods tent 14x16 with 4 ft walls....a propane heater will heat it enough for the regular deer season....

Exactly-----happened to us a couple years ago---found out that a couple of teenagers from the area were bored one day, went for a ride in the spring and found our hunt camp.
Did not burn it down----thank god-----here is what I had to say about it then.

Just spent 2 days on cleanup duty at the deer shack.
they kicked in the door ---took a couple of 40 ouncers that still had some booze in them, then proceeded to trash the place.
2 cans of paint splashed around---fire extinguishers discharged--all the dishes broken, then as they left they tossed firewood through all the widows.
Had to replace 6 sets of glass-----oh ya---they pushed the out house over but took not a single thing away with them.

I can only wish a slow and painful death upon them!

Someone broke in to our camp and found an OPP Golden Helmets hat from when I used to play baseball and they supported the team. They stuck knives in the bed smashed a window spray painted PIG and other things on the inside walls but left a nickname as a signature under one of them. Nothing taken, since there was really nothing to take. Cops showed up, did their whole song and dance took pictures and stuff.

It's been broken in to a few times before so we don't usually even call since it's always the same deal, broken lock or window nothing stolen since theres nothing to steal, maybe a bit ransacked. This time we did just cause of the knives.

Anyways they thought they knew who it was, and we never heard anything back until a friend of a friend who is a cop in the area sent me a newspaper clipping warning that water levels were low that year, and care should be taken when diving off cliffs in to the water because it might not be deep enough to safely do so, as evidenced by "Joe "nickname" Blow"'s death last week. He apparently hit rock bottom. Karma is a good thing.

This is what I call a heart warming story.

There is no worse feeling than when you are wronged for no reason. Take heart and respond, not react as hard as it may be.
Like the guys said, get a wall tent and keep the old fellahs spirits up.

As for the bozos, may they get their hand slammed in a car door so hard doing it a second time wouldn't do much more damage.

Hope to see some happier stories from your california neck of the woods this fall. This makes me sick.

Good on ya Fogducker.:cool::rockOn:

Good on ya Fogducker.

well half of the tent belongs to dumbdawg...i tried to pm him via msn messenger to get his ok to lend it out..i could not reach him..
but i did what he would do...:) and help out a fellow hunter any way i could:D

I hand up is always good in a time of need, a great way to show there's more good out there than bad.
If I was closer I'd loan out our air tight stove too. Beyond that I haven't anything for deer camp.

The thing that sucks is these people who vandalize and burn stuff thinking it is funny, make people who respect stuff look bad. In the area i live many cabins are left open for people to use in case they get stranded and most people respect that and leave them better than they found them, but some arseholes usually ruin it for others. Hopefully you catch these animals (individuals who act like that don't deserve to be classed as people!) and make a example out of them.:kickInTheNuts:

Animals will not break in and wreck up a place for no reason. These sh*ts are below normal people, below animals, below even the most lowly bacteria.

Yeah i just had a bit of trouble finding a word for those dxxkheads.

Sorry all you animals out there no disrespect meant

YOU BETTER BE SORRY!!!;) You nearly made my kitty cry and I swear a horse is depressed somewhere now:(

Seriously I hate fu*ckers that do stuff like that. I swear if I ever catch one of em... Something something something else...:kickInTheNuts:

Dont let them win. go back and rebuild and as mentioned use a tent camp if you must.

Our remote Moose camp was broke into once that I know of years ago by a Guy who had snowmachine problems....not really much damage and we dont' mind people going in to save their lives :) He even left some money to replace the lock.

That is very generous fogducker! I have sent moose a PM and offered to pick up the tent from you (I am in your city 1x per week) and I have a place right up super close to his camp. Heading up for thanksgiving and can leave the tent with a friend that is very close to his camp; good guy, fellow hunter. Let's see how this works out.

Moose was saying that the OPP think that the guys who burned his camp are the same ones that just broke in to my place..... small world.

WOW....all I can say is WOW....thanks for all the support and offers of tents and supplies...the people on this forum really are top notch.

An update........

Well we have decided to go ahead and rebuild...we figure if we don't the arseholes win. We went today and cleaned up what was left and burned the remining logs that were leftover....

Funny Story....Wednesday my friends wife went and took some pictures for insurance purposes...she parked the truck back in the bush out of sight. While taking pictures a car came along the road with 3 younger lads...they stopped and were looking in towards the camp apparently. She stepped from behind the wood shed and they took off quite abruptly...she found this alarming...she jumped into her truck and followed them...took the plate number etc. Our friend who is an OPP officer and a member of our camp is going to look into it deeper.

I am wondering to myself if these lads weren't coming back to check the damage they done and see if anyone noticed it burnt and if anything has been done since they lit the place up. The way they left has me wondering if this was in fact them.

We will soon find out...

Once again thanks for all the generous offers...construction starts Monday

Cheers
