Canada Has It's First Five Gun Master Shooter

Most new shooters join and then quickly leave IPSC and IPDA because of the mouths on the "experts" at matches. It's draining on the soul, most of us go to the range to get away from our wifes/gf's, not to endure cranky male ones on crack...

I believe in the three "S"s. Not Shoot, Shovel, Shutup but Shoot, Setup (the next guy's targets) and SHUTUP!

Perhaps a short history lesson is in order.
I started shooting IPSC on the Wetcoast WAYyyy back in 1980, competed until the early 90s.

Way back in the dark ages of IPSC, before IDPA, there were only "warriers", mostly cops, military, serious civilians, etc, who practiced PRACTICAL pistol shooting as preparation for real world confrontations.
And it was good.
Then came trophies.
then came prize table.
then came sponsors.
then came the "gamesmen", to whom winning trophies and prizes became their primary motivation, rather than actual "practical" shooting.
And it was not so good.

At these new IpSC matches, you actually needed a lawyer with you on every stage, just to keep up with all the gamers who were pushing the limits of "the rules".

There are "warriers" and then there are "gamesmen", and I think we can see which are which in the comments posted in this thread.

I used to shoot with a person formerly known as CSM Soucie. This was shortly before his retirement from the Canadian Armed Forces. CSM Soucie was already a very accomplished PRACTICAL shooter way back then. CSM Soucie had real world experience with fireams, and seemed to actually believe in the principles of iPsc, not in IpSC.

Unlike some of the other pantyhose wearing "gamesmen" who invaded PRACTICAL shooting, and made IPSC into what it is today ... Irritating People Squabbling Constantly .

Congrats to Ken Soucie ...
he has accompished sopmething very few others have done.

As for Madness, and his pi$$ing in other people's corn flakes,
his posts speak for themself, and show him for what he is.
A true Irritating Person Squabbling Constantly.

thanks for ####ting on my sport. I refrained from saying anything before and just let this thread go on.
Both are shooting sports. I don't squabble,....I don't think I am irritating,...and I see the merits with both sports. SPORTS. Just because you think spending more money in IPSC goes against some warrior code, does not make it any less valuable for others. I have participated in CDP in NB and found it to be challenging for the mag retention rules. I enjoyed drawing from concealment and using cover, although I never got warned or called for "cover", that is the only thing I would think would be too open to interpretation. Congrats to Ken on his ranking, I am sure it is well deserved.

let madness rant its a free country (i think) either way, i find ken a decent guy. hell never hear what we all have to say because he doesnt come on to this site ( i know this as a fact) but again i will say it anyways

goodjob ken

That's a rather entertaining analogy...but just a bit too simplified.

It doesn't matter what flavour of shooting it is...as soon as you start keeping score...it's a contest. There are just as many "gamesmen" in xdpa, bullseye, PPC...you name it.

That being said...Mike...please shut the #### up ;)

First for all who post here this is thread about a fine Canadian shooter who I know as a gentleman. It is not about IPSC, a sport I enjoy nor is it about one sport being more of this or that over the other. Both sports are great shooting sports, period.

Take Care

WOW, everyone is taking this way too seriously !!....whats wrong with "just giving props" to a fellow shooter, in a recognized sport , that has achieved a level (in that sport), that very few in the world have !?!

Ask Madness, he is the only one who felt it necessary to hijack the thread and tell us all how good he is and how bad Ken is.

Quigs you're no fun,
All I said was that watching the pros would blow tch1717's mind then everyone took it as Ken Bashing.
Then I corrected a statement from him. Some people just don't like to hear the truth.
BTW the Me vs Ken shooting the same match has happened alot the outcomes were not in his favour, sorry for your luck.

Once IDPA gets some good shooters down here you'll see what I was talking about, and you'll agree.

just wondering madness where are you from because you seem like you know ken personally?

look guys this should be about how a fellow Canadian is a 5 gun champ nothing more.
to me that puts Canada on the score board, its not just the US with good shooters.
