Got this last week, took it out today. the barrel isn't floated, likely the cause of the horizontal stringing...Soon to be remedied, and I'll post the results...

So I bedded and floated this rifle, took it out for another round today. No more stringing, nice little triangles, but I still think I can tighten these up. Going to try a couple different powders...Shot a few groups, all looked like this...

My SPS in 30-06 came with an adjustable trigger, Mine was factory set to 2# ish, I just left it there.

Some good shooting there Blargon! So what will the final load be with that thing, and what are you going for with it this year?

Cheers!

Undecided on the load yet, going to try some other powders. Whitetails are on the menu. I have a few other rifles ready to go, but this one should be good by November...If I still have it then...:D

All of my 700's came with 6 lb triggers, but I've brought them down to 3lbs...

Notice the change with the free floated barrel?

Blargon,
My 270 WSM loves R22. I highly recommend you try some 130 TSX. With 68.0 gr of R-22 these are just shy of 3300 fps and my particular barrel puts 3 of them consistently in under 0.4" with a best to date of 0.243"

THat is definitely one of my favorite calibers. Keep us posted on your results.

Thanks again for the help with the pump 760.
