9mm 1911's

Looks like we need a fact checker on Ailse 9.... :p

When I got my carry permit lots of years ago that was one thing that was STRESSED over & over.NO hollow points in handguns!
Was my firearms instructor wrong? He is currently giving the PAL and RPAL courses in my area.
Whats the scoop with that?
Not trying to argue, just wondering is all
thanks
Eric

Has anyone seen any 9mm 1911's in stock at any of the dealers? Hell, for that matter has anyone seen ANY 1911's of any calibre in stock at any dealers latery? ;)

Your instructor was a douchebag, hollow points bullets are meant to be shot with guns, nothing else. :bangHead:
He was likely anti-self defense, I got some of them too, my unrestricted PAL instructor was fairly anti-gun, and totally anti-handgun.
Understand that hollow-points are your friends. Everybody should have at least one box of hollow point ammunition near a handgun, preferrably already loaded in a magazine, and the handgun in a small safe one digit away from being unlocked.
Life is serious business, dude. ;)
Take care of yours and your familys.

O.K. got it. Thanks for the reply.
I think I might bring this up when I go take the RPAL course and test in a little while.

To the OP sorry 4 the highjack:redface: everyone please carry on with the original topic.................

Armco (top of page) has STI 9mm 1911's, full size Trojan and Commander size Ranger II. Spartans in .45ACP

PD enterprises has a few clones, as des Arms East and Frontier has a couple of Springfields.

Thery're out there but it can take some digging to find them.

For a while, the importation of hollowpoint handgun ammunition into Canada was forbidden. This caused many Canadians to believe that it was also illegal, although it never was. The prohibition on importation no longer exists.

Hollowpoint handgun ammunition is legal. The supply is limited, however, because of governmental restrictions on ammunition manufacturers, distributors, and retailers. There is still a prejudice among the various public officers against hollowpoint handgun ammunition (in civilian hands) and they wield their influence to dissuade the manufacturers, distributors, and retailers of ammunition from stocking and selling hollowpoint handgun ammunition to anyone (except them).

Hollowpoint handgun ammunition is legal. Buy it when you can.

I just picked up my first 2 boxes of 9mm ammunition last week to pass the Law 9 course. I went into the store and asked for the cheapest 9mm ammunition they had. I was handed 2 boxes of Remington 115gr JHP's. $15 each. Should I be rushing down there to clean them out?

that is good practice ammo. are you shooting it out of your 1911 9mm? try it out first. some feed ramps no likey. My glock feeds it fine though.

JHP's work fantastic in my NP29. although Gunnar had to do magic. And he DOES DO magic. I just need more NP29 mags. or, does anybody know where go buy singlestack 9mm 1911 mags...

Looch where the f**k in Quebec are you? :)

Basic Rem hollow-point ammunition isn't really great for defensive uses, but I know hollow-points are very accurate so target shooting is the most likely thing I'd do with it.
Good quality HP 9mm ammo will cost around 1$ a round, so 50$ a box of 50 or around 20-25$ a box of 20.

If that slow boat ever gets here with the next shipment of NP29's I might just score another to do up a dedicated .38 Super myself.

Looks like I don't have to wait for the slow boat.... Picked off a stock NP29 on the EE tonight.... Guess I was just lucky to be "on the spot".... From the time of the "for sale" post to my "I'll take it" was 3 mins.....  :D

My eyes lit right up when I saw that post, then they were full of disappointment when I read "SPF to NAA". Oh well, I guess I have to wait for the boat, or I could just get the NP-28 "High Cap" model Marstar has. How much did you pick that one up for NAA? If I may ask that is.

Same..It was already SPF! when I was reading the post :(

That's classified.... ;) :p

But put it this way.... more than Marstar sold 'em for brand new when they had 'em, but still way way less than what a Colt, Springer or STI will set you back.

Thinking about turning it into a dedicated .38 Super when it gets here.

South shore, Montreal. Londero has pistol ammunition - just no pistols. It's Remington UMC, by the way. He also has Blazer, but I didn't get a price.
