I was wondering if anyone has ever bought handguns from Cabela's before, specifically a Ruger SR9 Semi-Auto 9mm..

How are they, is it a good first pistol, comes with good accessories I believe... Case, padlock, 2 10rd clips.

I imagine that Cabela's Canada handles gun orders like everyone else does.

The SR9 is a fine pistol but the trigger could be better and the mags are a pain in the @ss to load. Also just so you know the majority of handguns nowadays come with two mags, a lock, and a case.

this is no norm, and rarely see pistols come with 2 mags, even ruger

The mag is tough to load with your fingers. But I got a "Maglula" loader....made all the difference in the world. I can load mags all day now if I want to.

As to the pistol: yes the trigger could be better but I decided to put a bit of time in to it polishing up the parts and I took a coil or two off the striker spring to lighten it up. Worked for me just fine. I've heard from others that have tried it after reading how I did it and they seem to be getting the same results. YMMV.

All in all I love that pistol.

Howdy, bought one on ee a few months back. Great gun, hard to load a full mag. but after a few mags gets much easier. Yes case ,lock and all that stuff.

Wholesale Sports had a pretty good deal on them when we were shopping.
Wife shoots it all the time and outshoots me with my .45. I would reccomend this gun. Thanks Later

Nice gun

I picked up one of these at Cabela's a couple of weeks ago. The process was pretty painless. I did look at Wholesale sports, since they tend to have better prices, but I was looking at a month or two wait to get one from another store. If you press the issue, there's a good chance they'll match the price.

So far I'm happy with the gun. But I'm pretty new to the hobby, so right now I'm just happy if it goes bang.

I owned one and just recently sold it great gun. Especially for the money, and adjustable sights is a plus. I moved up to a Glock but the ruger was just as good. I actually like the look better but Glock is my new fetish. Got the 17 ans 21 sf soon to come.
