I got a Ross 1912 Trainer...
Some interesting questions... first... at the receiver end... on the sight cap... there is a screw... presumably to prevent the sight from moving after adjustment???
Also, in the base of the action... there is another screw that has a flat point... this goes into a groove on the under side of the bolt... is this an after thought? or original? Seems like it'll be a PITA when I'm trying to clean it and pull patches through...
Finally, will this thing shoot .22 Shorts, or longs? It's a single shot bolt, so I assume it will...
Wood is in fantastic shape... and the metal has gone to a patina... but otherwise in great shape... Bore needs a good scrub before I can comment on the bore... but there's plenty of rifling left.

Here's something you don't see everyday, I was lucky enough to scoop up this Colombian carbine. It's all matching and in nice shape. I believe the sling is correct in that it is a 1950's export version to South America. Not a lot of info about these on the net, but from what I know they were built by FN originally in 7mm, and later converted by Colombia to 30-06 to standardize their rifles. Note that it was refurbished in Austria. I fired a few rounds through it today and the kick isn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, but it is very loud!

Nice - thanks for posting a very scarce milsurp (yours is the second I've seen and the first on CGN). Being a very short carbine and in 30/06 adds to its desireability. It's good to hear that you're shooting it.

No problemo Andy. The pics are the shiits but it's the best I can do for the moment. If we ever get a nice day here soon I'll get some better ones in the sunlight.

I've wanted one of these for a long time and after searching high and low, it dawned on me to ask for access to the EE.
This rifle is special to me as my Great Grandfather would have carried one like it in WWI and my Grandfather would have carried one like it at Hong Kong in WWII.
