SKS "HunteR"

Very nice cheek piece Timberlord, where can a guy get one of those?

It's for the M1 Garand .
I "think" it's from Numrich....I've had it for quite some time.
I rolled , turned and trained it to give me a higher comb.
Fits tight and comfy

Didnt get a chance to test the SKS out this weekend... :(:( and now i'm tight up with work, and next weekend doing some duck hunting... so probably few weeks untill i get to test the beast out.... :(

:) Alright....Finally.... Tomorrow morning going to Silverdale.... To sight and shoot this thing... Cant wait. Promise to post some groups soon... :)

I found the SKS to be VERY accurate with just the irons, point being I think it would be a great small game rifle.

I really like that scope, I've seen it before with the dragunov mod for the VZ and the SVT40, where do you buy them with the mounts that ship to canada?

Dmitri! That's a lovely rig, though I never use a bi-pod when I'm hunting. I think I did a little better price wise on my build. I got the SKS with both stocks from a guy in Winnipeg for $260.00(shipped), paid $20 for the aluminum angle iron, $17.00 for the weaver rail, and $70.00 for the red dot sight. You've seen my scope mount, and that was a fun build. Since most of the game I'll see will be 100m and under, I didn't think I'd need anything with magnification, but I still have the option of mounting a scope. I have to say that your rifle is very very appealing!

Groups

Alright... so these are the best two groups i could do with my sks at 100m...
They are 4" and 5 1/2 "... it took me about 50 rounds to sight the scope.. :) and then make few groups.... which i think are alright....:)
One problem though.... after 80 rounds my pinned muzzle brake got a bit loose, not loose enough to interfere with the bullet, but enough to annoy me:) what can i do about it...? shim with some foil maybe...? Oh and by the way my 5rd Zytel mag... didnt do too good either.... 5th bullet got jammed every single time..(making a dent on the side of the casing...) so i had to put an original mag back on...

Here are the groups.. ::

I got the deflector that fits on the rear sight, but i am having difficulties installing it... the cutout that hooks on to the bar seems to be too small..it doesn't want to position properly . Anyone had same problem??
yes i got one from Marstar, tried messing with it for a few minutes, decided it was total garbage and that a tin can cutout would do better and threw the cheap MArstar crap inthe garbage

takes few minutes to to make it work... and it works fine... much neater and lighter then the other ones i've seen....
