The alternate worst case scenario I'm talking about is that the barrel is too short so if requiring registration it would be a prohib, and can not be registered / imported legally into Canada.

And "if" the barrel is too short, starpuss just admitted to illegally importing a prohibited firearm..........

My point is, if you are unsure about if it is legal then don't pass it off on some poor SOB on CGN. I think the seller should work out if it is in fact a legal antique before selling it as such. If starpuss sells this gun and it turns out it is a no-no then the buyer is out $600. I wouldn't be to happy.......

ill be puting for sale next week to other 1892's and a big box or parts. and i have 2 frames with the s/n's 31###,56### both antique . if some one wants they can buy the gun with a spare frame and change it over.. and cut up this frame. or ill change it over.

the barrel is 4.5" witch if i remeber right is 114.3 mm , and 106mm? is the cut off for prohib?

If it doesn't have a serial number it wouldn't be worth anything to me.

If you can't prove it's antique, then it probably isn't antique. Sounds like a big problem waiting to happen. Not sure i'd be discussing value of an unregistered revolver with scrubbed serial number in an open forum, but each to his own.

In Canada people who make an honest mistake are dealt with more severely than criminals, especially when it comes to firearms. Think lifetime firearms prohibition, that sort of thing.
