ODPL / IDPA-style Match at HAHA (handgun or pistol-calibre carbine)

Laugh. I'm active weekly at Galt on Practice nights. :)

Looks like a good, albeit chilly, day. Congrats Acrashb on another excellent HAHA event!

You'll have to rename it 'Galt Practical Shooting' as i never see anyone from Galt actually participating in any of the matches outside of Galt......

Just curious ... was this an ODPL match or an IDPA match? It looks like IDPA and ODPL have different (but similar) rule books.

Looks like a lot of fun! I hope the weather held out and all went well.

ODPL. The rulebook is strikingly similar for a reason - train and gear-up for one and the other is immediately accessible.

The weather was great. Crisp in the morning, but dry and sunny all day.

ODPL is pretty much the same type of game... It's just it's own thing. No ties/affiliation to the American IDPA entity.

It's a league... Not an association.

You forgot to mention we like to poke fun at ourselves and have a lot of fun and be safe.....We really poke a lot of fun at 667 and banger.

I like to think of ODPL as a bunch of guys who love to shoot for the fun of it. Be it a scenario that is realistic, spaced out, general, hard, easy, ludicrous, etc...

Where else can you have a multi-gun scenario based off of resident evil, themes described as attack of the clowns, the movie "Collateral", Hawaiian shirt parties, and the infamous "Bond, James Bond" matches.

As for the wannabe contortionists, I'll just take the penalty since I don't bend that way, and I roll down, not lay down. :)

Waiting for my ISP upload limit to reset at the beginning of the month.

I figure the modest quality of the vid is enough to conceal faces, but if anyone wants theirs removed, PM me.

LOL indeed. Standing nearby, I felt the ground shake. Rule number one: always be in control (martial arts or gun handling). Throwing one's self at the ground is enthusiastic, but that's all! Made for some good comments from the peanut gallery, though.
