Sorry but all I got is this cell phone cam picture:

You guys ever have your CZ-858's extractor's just tear the chunk of rim right off the cartridge???

Bent a cleaning rod trying to get it out too.

NavyCuda may be right, but I have to add something to his reply because I had see this problem before.I'm sure this problem shows up when you have your chamber corroded.
I hope it's not really bad for sakes of your gun,so clean it well with wire brush and WD40.
Zygy

The chamber is not necessarily corroded. The lacquer on the cases can build up in the chamber and cause sticky extraction.

Look familiar?? (just ignore my dirty kelboard lol)

This has been an on and off problem for my Vz58L... despite cleaning the chamber numerous times with a dremel brush and various cleaning solutions... grrr....

Clean the chamber, lacquer builds up over time and once the heat builds up it causes the lacquer in the chamber to stick to the lacquer on the casing as the casing expands. Use a 12ga wire brush on a cleaning rod and put the cleaning rod in a drill use whatever gun cleaning solution you have on the brush. Keep cleaning till the swabs come out clean.

Haha! Identical actually!

Thanks guys for all the advice, I will try cleaning out the chamber good and proper, see if that fixes it!

Even though the brass looks like cheap Chinese steel, I believe its also called "white steel", I'm amazed at the power that the bolt has moving rearward that it can rip such a huge chunk off of the cartridge!

Since the question of the case tearing has been answered, I'll add this:

You must be old(er) because the pubic hair all over your keyboard look to be white...lol.

It seems no amount of brushing and conventional cleaning can adequately remove the lacquer buildup. I had this identical problem on my 58L and it produced the same damaged cartridges.

I finally took it to a gunsmith who says this is very common in anything using this czech ammo (the amount of lacquer seems to vary from one case to the next). His solution is 10,000rpm and something a lot more potent then hoppes. Getting the chamber polished to a mirror finish does the trick.

BS.

I've shot thousands of rounds and never had a stuck case. There's no need to polish it out.

Lacquer thinner will remove the buildup, though I've never had to use it. I use that foaming bore cleaner stuff and Barret bore cleaner.

Edit: The VZ cleaning kit comes with a chamber brush for a reason.

X2

..I'm +50,000rnds in mine. 2 stoppages, none from "laquer" buildup. And in all that time I have only swabbed the bore, never even brushed the chamber.

I use FREE on the gas parts & bore and run a snake through it, follow with a full coat of cheap silicone spray. Runs like a champ.

WD40 kind of turns into a strange gooey substance after a while. If there was WD in the chamber, I believe it to be a possibility.

Is anyone using CLP or breakfree for the chamber/bore and non-chrome lined barrell of the CZ858-2

too strong a solvent ? Should i avoid it ? Was wodering if it's a good product to clean barrell's that run corrosive ammo.
