Coming Soon - Euro M14's from Marstar!

I know this is the wrong thread... but i cannot wait to buy a bd44 from John!

Now it seems I have a factory made shorty m14 i'm going to have to save up for as well!

even springfields.... out of the box and at premium prices need the same "tweaks" as the norincos.

My SAI M1A did not need any of the work done out of the box. For starters it was head spaced to 1.631" out of the box, no shims were needed, sights didn't need to be replaced, scope mounting splines were on spec, etc shale I continue? ;)

I know these rifles will be all that John hasn't promised in this thread ( :p ) so one day one of these may end up beside my SAI. :dancingbanana:

Every civilian springfield I have checked needed the work. The finish was smoother and prettier but much thinner and more fragile than the chinese parkerizing. But they were all standard , fairly recent production rifles , not match.
The springfields certainly aren't worth all those extra sheckels when norcs are around. It seems like paying $500 for a rifle with a cast receiver instead of forged and $1500 for a decent wood stock.
But then again people want a $200,000 Ferrari rather than a $50,000 imitation that performs the same - after all it's a Ferrari !

Some people on this forum need to go back to school and learn Economics 101. When labor costs 25-30$ a hour plus benefits and other government fees a company in Canada or the US has to pay per employee is somehow equivalent to 20 cents a hour for "Specialized Labor" in China.

Mind you a class in the properties of metals and metal processes is the next class some need to take. The little you lose with a investment casting verses forging today (under 10% life expectancy difference) is less then what you lose from going from 8620 to 5100 type steel. There are reasons why 8620 was selected, because its the cheapest useful tool steel out there. ;)

i'd be happy if folks would just stop trying to rationalize thier over rated springfield purchases and realize that if they got a good springfield that needed no work done..... they got lucky and are definately in the minority.

just ask powmia56 and lazerus2000 how many springfields had issues at the clinic done in washington this year. i rest my case.

we know you love and cherish your springfield Dimitri, you've flogged the argument in various threads before. I respect your opinions.... but this isn't a norc versus springfield thread... so let's leave that dog lie shall we ? ;)

I'll restate my original purpose on this thread .... Which was not to bash Norincos till someone bashed SAI's guns ....

FN Sports sucks .... can't wait to see a Italian M14 type rifle coming in from a good importer. ;)

Nothing better than beating a dead horse with chu wood.

until yer #### falls off!

I just want to thank johnone, although I have not yet purchased anything from Marstar and likely will not be able to afford the Euro M14 due to my own situations I am proud and pleased to see a Canadian company, looking after Canadian interestes, and selling competativley. You have gone out of your way on many occasions and deal with a lot of crap, thanks for putting up with it and doing what your doing.

Much the same can be said of most CGN sponsors such as CanAm, Frontier, Moving Target, etc...

I keep reading where these are coming from Italy, but I have not read where Marstar confirms this ?
I hope that John offers a few of these for some of us in the U.S. as well as some semi auto BM59 receivers from Italy!
Lots of BM59 parts are being demilled and dismantled in Italy with the rifle being obsolete.

Would you guys get over it... It's not (and cannot be) a BM 59

It doesn't matter how cheap they might be, and how much you'd want to get one... You can't.
