Anyone know where you can track sight adjustment tools down for various milsurps ? I'm mostly concerned about a mosin sight tool, and one to loosen that reverse slot head on the No4 Mk1. I do not have, or know anyone who has, the ability to make a tool for me for the Enfield. Will the sight adjustment tool for the SKS/AK also work on the Mosin without damaging it ? I would prefer not to use a drift punch.

I've checked all the sponsors and the EE, and haven't found much.

Cheers

303 sight tool

For the 303 reverse flat tip screw just cut off the tip of a screwdriver, grind to fit diameter of the hole for the screw and then file a slot in the end to fit the screw head.
I've done this many times and they work very well.

I do not have any of the required tools to do this. Besides, all my screw drivers are fairly new. If I go buy the tools to do this, then I may as well just buy the tool I need to do the job in the first place.

Jiggi, you could stop by to my place and I'll make one for you, and while at it we could check if the SKS adjustment tool works for your other need. I probably could even spare a brass punch. PM me if that could help, I'm in Aylmer.

Stan Ward in South Carolina makes a couple of tools: LT2 combination for Mosin-Nagants and Lee Enfields, and LT98 for the Mauser K98. They run $25 apiece US including shipping. The LT2 is for the Mosin long rifles and will not fit the M44 with the bayonet mounted. I'm having mine modified by a local machine shop. You have to turn the LT2 upside down for the Enfield - took me a while to find that out as no instructions came with it.

That's perfect, thank you ! I've sent him an e-mail, but in the mean time looks like I'll be making a trip out to Aylmer.

If it wasn't for these forums, I'd be absolutely lost. I'm sort of the lead amongst the three new shooters in my family (myself included) so I've had to be fairly self taught as I know no other shooters. You folks have been a huge help !

I better do a bit of cleaning...

:D

It is always a pleasure to receive visitors. Mostly because there's plenty more stuff to learn than stuff I know - so each meeting brings new stuff in my head.
