A quick online shipping estimate from Ammosource (in Ontario) was $35. Check them out $169 a case.

Two reasons. Firstly Thunder Bay is expensive for shipping. Secondly one box of ammo, although small, has to go in another box. Shipping is also based on the volume density of a box. The box might only be 1lb but if the average weight of that box (using the volume density calculations they give us) is 4lbs then they charge for 4lbs. I know, great fun. One box small box of ammo is never a great deal for shipping, there is no way around it. The more you buy the better the deal shipping is.

Well, here's my latest update on prices. Wolverine has it on sale for 160 a case. Shipping was quoted at about 85 bucks. I live around Thunder Bay, seems like we are in the black hole of shipping costs. Tried Ammo source...shipping was quoted at 61.50, total price including taxes, 261. Jeepers, that shipping sure is a bee-atch!

Is there a minimum charge for shipping ammo? Just did the shipping estimate on one box ( 20 rounds) of privi 7.62 x 54r...came in at 31 bucks and change. Tried a different brand for fun, same price. That's pretty steep for one box of ammo.

There's your answer. Greyhound used to ship "dangerous goods", but no longer (and with that, no more cheap ground shipping).
