Well it's been a good couple of weeks. I got a new Ruger 17HMR, Sig Mosquito #2, and now a challenger to my current coyote rig. I just received my lightly used Anschutz 1730 - 22 Hornet. I lapped some Burris rings and mounted a cheapie Elite 4200 2.5-10x40mm, bore-sighted her, and called her good. I haven't owned a 22 Hornet since my last ill-fated Ruger 77/22 so I am pretty excited to see how this hornet will group. I loaded a bunch of test load Sierra 40 Grain Soft point Hornet, 45 gr Sierra SP Ht, and 40 gr Sierra HP. I also have a bunch of 40 gr VMAX to try if the first three don't group as well as I would like. One odd thing is that she doesn't have swivel studs... I don't know if I could bear to drill the wood to mount a sling. Here is the challenger:

I am tempted to try a .338 LM but she is pretty darn heavy and not made for the quick up close shots that I usually get:

She is the one in the back with S&B PM II 5-25x56 scope. So what about you guys anything new for coyote termination?

Usually the Savage 22-250 is my weapon of choice, but lately I've been having a little fun with my Tika T3, 243. Knocks them down realllllll good.

My coyote guns are .17 Rem Light Varmint, Gaillard built M700 in .204, couple of .223 VLSs, Gaillard built M70 in 22/250, Kimber 84V in 22/250, and a built up XR100 in 22/243 Middlested. Favorite is the Kimber, then the Middlested.VX 111 LRs on all of them except the .17 which has a VX11 4-12. I guess I could count the M700 .243 as well.
I popped one today at 194 yards with one of my Savage muzzleloaders. Lasered after the fact.:D

Take on the .204? The 22/250 kills better.

I have a kimber 84m classic varmint .22-250 and an old CIL anchutz .222 rem. I also like my kimber 84m classic select .243 and husky 96 6.5 swede for coyotes, on those windy days.

I think the .204 ruger is a dandy fairweather coyote gun, but I would prefer something a little heavier in the wind.

md 788 .222
.22 H.P.
.250-3000

that being said I've blasted a bunch when out deer or moose hunting with whatever I'm packing at the time.
