Looking to build long range gun (600 yd), It will be chambered in a 6 Br Norma. I do not know actions to choose between Barnard P and stiller's viper SS .Which action advise me you

Both are nice, but I really like Barnard. From the heaviness of the design, the length of throw, the heavy bolt, the bolt removal system and the round design, it wins hands down in my mind.

I suggest the single shot action over the repeater... and a no neck turn Lapua brass chamber.

Get the best of both worlds... Get Ian to order you a Stiller Viper with drop port.. brass "ejects" by falling out the port by gravity. Slick as sh**T. 2 Lug Stiller action has more positive extraction than Barnard 3 lug.

Put it in Ian's Masterclass prone LR BR stock, 3 inch flat forend. Peruse thru Sinclair International's catalog for good 3 leg pedestal front rest, front bag, and Edgewood high Gator rear bag. Get the sliding surfaces in cordura as it doesn't stick as much as leather in the rain. And it will rain.

What about BAT. Seems to be a favoratie for the single shot 6mmBR crowd.

BAT are fine actions, but for the price and the time it takes to get one, you would be better off with a Barnard.

I only know of one F-Class shooter in the west using a BAT and he came over from the benchrest dark side:D

Oh noooooooooooo........not another shiny 6BR with a Krieger barrel. I wonder what Obtunded is gonna say about this......

...Simply that the man has exceptional taste!:D

Nice job - looks like it will be a shooter. Groups and loads would be nice when you have:) What about your optics - what are you using? Thanks
