i have some sierra gamekings ...but i was told thay were not suitable for moose. only deer.

The SGK is perfectly suited to moose. Who told you that?

Paper ballististics don't always tell the whole story. Just look at the 6.5x55 Swede. The extra weight of the 200 gr. will hold onto that energy longer than a 165 gr. and it wouldn't hurt to have one in the chamber if you ran into a Big Furry. I would forget the Nosler Ballistic Tip for the 308 Win. I would want something that will open up fast like a 200 gr Speer. I use a 180 Nosler Ballistic Tip in my 300 Win. Mag

my opinion, if punching paper anything goes as long as you are happy

not all bullets are created equal
some bullets are designed to expand at low velocity, and some at a high velocity and some not designed to expand at all

so if you pick the wrong bullet and shoot at the biggest moose you ever did see, it probably would go right through (unless it hit bone) and not even give you a trail to follow as the exit, could seal it self up, or give you the faintest trail to follow.
